3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dedollewaitor (12285) - Odense, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2012
Bottle @ Kulminator. 2006 Vintage. They made the cooling wait 20 minutes (which was 40) move with me as well. This place is weird but they did sell it to me which was quite surprising considering the excuses they had for not serving me 3 or 4 others from their selection. The beer pours clear orange with a creamy head. Nose is cellar, funk and mould. As it warms it gets more phenolic and rubbery. Dry, fruity and yeasty flavor with some mild lambic notes. Very easy drinkable and quite pleasant.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bart (2915) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 31, 2012
75cl Bottle @ Kulminator, Antwerp. Vintage 2006. Unlabelled. Light hazy yellow blond coloured beer with lots of carbonation and a small white head. Fruity light sour and refreshing aroma. Sprankling medium palate. Finish is light sour, short grainy/ wheaty with a light dry bitter sour hinted ending. Nice balance, rather special combination. Ok.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 SirLimpsalot (1611) - SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2012
Ganska besk
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 gyllenbock (2967) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 20, 2012
Bottle at Kulminator in March 2012. The bottle was unlabeled, anno 2001. The bottle was kept around 20 minutes in the fridge before we could drink it. Reason to that was to prevent an explosion.
Pours a cloudy yellow color with a large white head. The aroma reminded of a Gueuze with notes of cellar and funk. The taste had a light tartness. Also wood, yeast, some hops and some vinegar. The beer was lively with a lot of carbonation. Not bad, but maybe more interesting than really tasty.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lusikka (4039) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 4, 2012
750 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere.
Pours a cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of barnyard, lemon, peach and . Flavour of pale malts, barnyard, sour lemon, light hops and sweetish fruits. Medium bodied, quite high carbonation and a light citrusy finish with mild bitterness. Summery and refreshing.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 blafa (510) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2011
Bottle at Akkurat. Stockholm, September 28th, 2011.
Lightly musty and oxidated and first, beneath that flowery and slightly sweet with a big dash of sour apples. A bit funky - Just how I like it. Body is light and the taste is sourish with a distant sweetness. It’s very clean and refreshing which is something I didn’t expect. Some grass and barnyard in the finish.
4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 77ships (2156) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 16, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2011 2006 Vintage unlabeled 75 cl. bottle/shared@Kulminator: brief sweet, fruity, yeast, hoppy upfront, bitter (Kerkomse triple) followed by musty, lots of horse blanket, sour lemons, dust, slight grains, cobwebs (3F lambic) with a dominant strong, zesty, spunky bitterness like akin to what you get at the 3F Geuze, fuity, bitter, very hoppy, lemony, musty sour, slightly prickly, really digging this combination of a blond ale and lambic, should be done more frequently/// sampled two more different bottles, the proportions between the two beers does seem vary quite a lot, last one 3F kind of overwhelmed but still great, like it more when the ale is featured more
4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2011
75cl, 2006 bottle at Kulminator. Needed 15 minutes in the fridge before we could drink it to prevent an explosion. Pours a blonde colour with a beautiful, pillowy white head that dies down to moderate. Classic geuze nose of horse-blanket, leather tobacco pouch, cigar box, lemon and grass. Brilliantly musty with horse-blanket again, Brett, leather and cigar box notes. Unreal! Moderate carbonation and a light CO2 prickle. A foamy mouth-feel with a musty, lemon citrus linger. Dry finish. Only mildly sour, all the classic geuze qualities without the sourness. Really interesting.
