COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Bios Kriek Lambic is sold under the CHERISH label in the USA and outside Europe. Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

Bottle, sold as Cherish. Pours clear ruby with a large, fizzy pink head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), light hops (earthy), and light esters (fruity) with notes of cherry. Flavor is heavy malt (bread), light hops (earthy), and light esters (fruity) with notes of cherry. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and creaminess with a medium sweet finish.

Pours a murky cranberry into the glass with a light sudsy head that leaves thicker window-wash lacing. The nose is of fresh bing cherries alongside some slightly artificial cherry flavoring. The combination is nice. Flavors of sweet and sour cherries, with some interesting light green apple thrown in for good measure. Tart finish. Active carbonation and a juicy mouthfeel give this a semi-cola feel. Does not feel like a "malt beverage", which is a good thing in dealing with Lambics.

’Tis okay. Especially for a Lambic. Not sure if this is true to the Lambic style in the making of it, but it turns out politely sweet, semi-like Lindemans. Lots of sweet cherry on the nose and in the flavors, while the sour is mainly kept at bay.

From bottle. Nice sweet and rich cherry lozenge aroma, musky dark cherry. Dark ruby-brown hazy beer, like the color of dark cherry skins, topped with thin head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts tart and sweet with rich cherry flavor throughout. Nice acidity and great cherry flavor, with tart clean cherry finish. Not in the class of Cantillon and others, but tasty for the type of lambic it is.

Bottled, 330ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Pinky brown with vaguely pink head. Cherry aroma which follows into the beer, I was hoping for Lambic and cherry sourness, but got a sweet perfumey almost artificial flavour. Lacks bite, disappointed.

cherry cough syrup - in a good way; red with pink head; tart, not-too-sweet; perfect beer to cut hoppy bitterness

Appearance: murky cherry red with a ridiculous pink head that retains well and leaves plenty of lacing. Smell: A small amount of citric acid sour bitterness along with some cherry notes and funk. Not as sour as an oud bruin or as funky as a wild ale. Taste: Dry cherries and sweet sugar are offset with just enough tartness and carbonation to make this a tasty, albeit simple lambic. Mouthfeel: I like the carbonation and it makes for a smooth mouthfeel. Drinkability: Very easy to drink for the style. Not too much acid so it doesn’t get to your stomach. Its a shame my local retailer charges $3 for a bottle thats less than 9oz or I’d come back to this more often. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-23-2008

Reddish-brown color with thin amount of foam. Bursting with cherry aroma. Love the heavy sour cherry bite of tartness with heavy champagne like carbonation that dances on tongue. Not sure why other scores are so low. This is easy drinking and a good example of the style.
