COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Bios Kriek Lambic is sold under the CHERISH label in the USA and outside Europe. Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy red with a small pink head. Aroma and flavor are mostly sweet cherries. Just enough tartness to make it drinkable as a lambic, but not much true sourness and virtually no funk. Surprisingly dry finish. Fairly thin palate. Could pass for cherry soda or a kir royale (which I like!), but this is just too one dimensional.

Bottle. Staff recommendation to try to nudge a wine drinker a few steps closer to the beer world. Bright red, medium pink head, scant lacing. Aroma of cherries (no kidding). Taste is midway between a sweet geuze like Lindeman’s and a more traditional sour. Inoffensive, and useful for its purpose.

A- bright red bubbly body with thin pink head. S- very strong of cherries. Smells similar to a cough syrup. T- Intense sour cherry. Very similar to sour cherry pucker. Tastes pretty good but it turned my stomach a little. P- high carbonation and pretty heavy body. O- I wouldn’t be able to drink too much of this. The flavor is too intense and sour. It is definitely worth a try. Do a sample of this one. More than 4 oz may be hard to stomach. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 05-21-2007 00:04:45

Bottle from La Trappe in San Fran. Pours a ruddy color with a medium white head. A pretty simple flavor and nose of sweet sugary cherries, not sour. Easygoing.

Pours murky ruby brown with a sudsy light pink head. Aroma of cherry cheesecake. Taste is not overly sweet, some tart and earthy bitterness but definitely bursting with cherry flavor. Slightly sticky.

8.4oz bottle as Cherish. Pours a clear, ruby-amber colored body with a thin, pink head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is sweet cherry fruit snacks and moderately malty. The flavor is the same with a light tartness. Some cloying sweetness in the aftertaste after it slowly dries. Medium body and a light, tickling carbonation. Overall, a one-dimensional, overly sweet beer. Its not offensive or poorly made, just not my thing.

Pours a ruby-copper body with an off-white with some pink lacing head. Aroma is cherry hard candy. Flavor is cherry, malt, little sour. Finish is dry and sour.
