COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Bios Kriek Lambic is sold under the CHERISH label in the USA and outside Europe. Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

Clear medium to light dark amber red color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caraeml, fermented cherry, sour and sweet cherry, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet, acidic and sweet vinegar with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [260908]

The aroma is powerful cherries, and slightly sweet - but contains no sourness - a little weird for a kriek. The color is an unclear dark red and it has a beutiful pink head. The flavor is dominated by cherry, and it is pretty sweet. It has no sourness nor metallic notes as krieks often have. Though it ends on a very slight metallic note instead of bitterness. This is not a kriek, but a cherry sodapop - is that because I had it from keg?

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) The aroma of cherries is overwhelming, as soon as the cap comes off. And the cherries are -to put it mildly- quite evident in the flavor as well. I refuse to believe that the flavor can be this intense without the addition of artificial flavors or at least a concentrate. Light brown and hazy with a reddish tint. Almost no head. The same brewery makes a beer with almost the same label called "Vlaamse Bourgogne. A "Vlaams Bruin"-type. With it’s hint of iron this beer is probably the base of "Bios Kriek". 020304

25 cL bottle. Pours hazy hazzlenut brown with a diminished light brown head. Brett acidic towards a citric aroma with a slight sweetness. Flavour holds a subdued sweetness beneath a solid fruity acidity. Leads into a nice fruity dry finish with a soft acidity.

A mix of two thirds two year old lambic and one third oud bruin, cherries added. Red-brown. Balsamic with balanced sweetness, with fresh, tart cherry flavour. Tasy and interesting, but perhaps a bit sweet in the long run.

Bottled. Clear red colour, small creamy. Very sweet cherry aroma. Sweet cherry flavour with some bitterish notes in finish. Cherry aftertaste. Carbonation tickles tongue a bit much, otherwise very good.

Red color. Quite simple but enjoyable, with some sweetness deriving from the cherry syrup.
