COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Bios Kriek Lambic is sold under the CHERISH label in the USA and outside Europe. Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

On tap at the Sharp Edge. Dark ruby, pink head. Aroma is cherry cough drops. Flavor is malt, metal, cherries, feet. Not very good, but not a drain pour.

Bottle. Smells like cherry syrup mixed with sour milk. Cloudy brownish-red color with very slight head. Light cherry Kool-Aid flavor initally that is stopped by a quick bitter metallic flavor and ends with a watered down sour/musty flavor like a watered down gueuze. Too sweet for a traditional lambic and too poorly blended to be enjoyed by those who like sweet fruit lambics.

Cherry cough medicine. Cherry soda. Cherry wine. Cherry seltzer water. Cherry catastrophe. No sourness detected, no complexity, no rewarding qualities.

Smells like artifical cherry flavoring. Similar to a laffy taffy. Looks bright red with a creamy pink head - 2 fingers Nice carbonation Virtually no sourness Too sweet, not dry at all Overwhelming candy cherry taste

Musty artifical nose. Some musky cherry flavors but like a bad soda ice cream that melted in my glass. Not a kriek not a fruit.

Suttree (3925) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 20, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2004 Can a beer be tacky? This one just seems cheap, the culinary eqivalent of a leisure suit. Even the aroma, normally a saving grace for fruit beers, seems candyish and fake. Nasty cough syrup cherry flavor. Finish is medicinal, to continue the cough syrup theme.

Pours an off colored copper color with no head. Aroma is that of cherry candy with a strange burning plastic thing going on as well. Not at all well blended. None of the sourness I associate with a great (or even good) lambic. Cherry flavors seem to battle with flavors of chocolate and chemicals. There is a very strange, astringent aftertaste. That burning plastic dynamic shows up again in the aftertaste and sticks on your tongue. This is terrible!
