3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap, Monk’s Cafe in Philadelphia. Arrived in a small glass, red/cherry appearance with no head. Aroma of tart fruits, with a sour flavor, with a hint of the aforementioned cherries and maybe even some dates...? Interesting, didn’t mind this one in the least!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip glass. The appearance showcases a thin fizzy off white head. The color is a ruby brown similar to cola. The aroma opens up with cherry and cranberry some herbal notes to add. The flavor is starts with sweet cherry like notes with toast grain at the base. In rings the sour with cranberry/cherry tartness on the tongue with a hint of black pepper. Almost like a carbonated Pinot Noir rose. Very delicious sour to have with pork dishes.

Taste is apples, raspberries, wood, slight tartness, mostly sweet though. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, woody aftertaste. Overall, meh. Another book failure.

Bottle share. Pours a clear reddish amber with bubbly tan head with some retention. Nose of dark fruit, a bit of funk; some caramel and a lot of dried fruit sweetness, a bit tart, a bit sour ("almost like eating a bowl of limes"). Very pleasant and refreshing.

Sour and reddish / brown in color. It could be much more sour, but I think it is good where it is.
