3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Drank the Monk’s café Flemish Sour Ale.
APPEARANCE - exceptionally red, great light beige head.
NOSE - slightly sweet, not much sour scents. There?s a different scent in this that I can?t identify.
FLAVOR - sweet with very light sour hint at the end.
NOTES - not your typical sour. Excellent balance with the malt, and a very unique treatment.

From a 330ml. Pours reddish-brown with a frothy head. Yeast, cherries, raspberries on the nose and in the glass. Sour cherry and wine-like flavors. This is a delicious, refreshing beer, if a little on the light side of sour

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark red in color. Thick, bubbly head with outstanding lacing. Has a mix between fruity and floral aroma. There is some citrusy aromas also. It taste like sweet unripened raspberries. Medium carbonation with a smooth finish. Is this what a sour is suppose to taste like. It reminds me of drinking lemon water. I likey lots. Very easy to drink.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Darker than expected sour. Refreshing is the key word here and this certainly is. On the other hand it tastes like a sourish, carbonated glass of fruit juice rather than a beer or ale. Sour cherries? In any event, this end of the beer spectrum is not one I want to explore any further, except perhaps for an occasional cold one on a hot summer day, which, as it happens, is currently the case.
