Also called “Monk’s Café Flemish Sour Red Ale”

We blend young and old beers to make this mildy tart sour ale. Light bodied with a lactic/sour nose and a bit of sweet and sour in the finish. Very refreshing!

Pours a dark red color with a small beige head with minimal lance. Aroma is lightly tart, subtle red grape and cherry notes and brown sugar. Flavor slighlty tart, cherry and apples. The body is light with a dry mouth feel, sour , milky flavor are more obvious at the finish.

Monk’s Cafe Flemish Sour bottle. Pours a hazy reddish brown with Derbent cap of cream head and good paving that slips down the glass. Aroma of lactic sour and slight dark fruits. Taste is sweet malts, tart middle, clean fruity ending. Mild for a sour, but definitely refreshing.

A - pours dark brown with lots of red highlights. Thin khaki head. S - acidic fruit, vinegar, tart. T - sweeter than the nose. Cherries dominate and coat the side and back of the tongue with tartness. Hints of green apples and stem wood. Sour but tame. M - medium bodied, Low but tight carbonation. This a good mix of sweet and sour. Smells incredible, and drinks very easy. Tame on the sourness. Serving type: on-tap 03-20-2011

This beer has a dark brown color and a sour aroma which has a scent of cherries. It tastes much like a kriekenbier and is nice and sour with the tast of grapefruit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The appearance of this beer is very reddish dark brown with a ring of off-white head around the top of the liquid, and the aroma is very similar to soured white grapes with a touch of general sweetness to it. The taste is quite sour and mildly sweet, and the palate combines a medium body, thin texture, lively carbonation, and a long sour finish.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2013 12oz Bottle Code 168L from Sour Power Pack into 14.7oz Zwiesel cognac snifter @50º; Big loosely structured bone white head falls after a few minutes to a ring and a few islands, sparse spotty lace, very deep red-amber body with amber highlights; cherry-apple, buttery doughy cinnamon roll projects itself over a lactic acidic body with enough carbonation to keep everything moving while showcasing the creamy lactic qualities as this settles, cleaning acidity, sweetness balances sourness, I like it

Pours dark ruby red aroma od sour cherries and a hint of chocolate. Light sourness that balances perfectly. Sour cherries fade to a light dark malty sweetness.
