Cask (GBBF2011)
Sharpness and a mellow roast ni the aroma, nearly docked it a point for the sharpness. Dry palate, almost astringent burntness. Not so refreshing, but not with actuall flaws, just something intangible.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MadIndian (1902) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Gift from SJ. I liked the raisin / dark fruit / roasted malt aroma and taste.
The liquorice finish had a mild chemical / synthetic taste to it, but it was a solid beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Leighton (4091) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2011
Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 2. Pours brown-black with a bubbly, foamy, off-white head. Some curious apple notes along with faint roasted malts in the nose. Very bland with some light sugars and dark malt. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Some dark sugar in the finish, a little roast. Not a terrible beer, but definitely not living up to its potential
