2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 UNCCTF (477) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 27, 2012On tap at VBGB in Charlotte. Looked nice, had a cool aroma of peppers and southwestern spices, but I could just not get into this one. The pepper taste was almost fake-tasting and was completely unappetizing. I couldn’t even finish it, actually - my fiancee really liked it, though, so maybe I’ll try it again sometime with a clean palate.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chinchill (580) - South Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2013
On tap at Growlers Pour House in Charlotte.
Pours clear red-amber with a full, creamy and durable bone-colored head that leaves fine lacing patterns.
Smells rather ordinary, with no sign of the jalapenos. You will definitely taste the hot peppers in this beer, although Birdsong used enough restraint that I would not call this challenging to drink. There is some mild heat in the mouth which is why the ABV seems rather high.
O: a chili beer with little else going one, but that’s not always a bad thing. Worked well with a sandwich and fries.

Tap at revolution. Slight hint of pepper in the aroma and taste. Really liked this one.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2012
Location: Draft @ Revolution, 12/9/12, Spice/Herb/Vegetable Rating #100
Aroma: The nose is a little hoppy, with some malty notes, and some mild pepper
Appearance: It pours a light cloudy golden color, lasting white head, heavy lace
Flavor: The pepper comes out more in the flavor and meshes well with the mid-bitter hop presence
Palate: The body is medium, it has a creamy feel, average carbonation, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression:
Quality stuff. I really enjoyed this beer, and found it to be both enjoyable and well-made. I have very few complaints here.

Tap at Beer Study thanks to TURD. Good lace. Clear golden pour. Jalapeno and queso dip nacho nose. Taste is oatmeal, bran, cracker. Decent body. Muted to almost no capsaicin heat. I like. Solid and drinkable with no burning head in the taste. Malt profile impressive.

Tap at Beer Study. Hazy golden amber with a small whie head. Nose is peppery, light citrus and pine. Peppery flavor not surprisingly, but thankfully not too overpowering.

Draft af the source. Hazy yellow color, small white head, solid lacing. Arona of straw and subtle you-know-what. Taste has the spice and flavor of the pepper without the heat. Nice.
