COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is currently our darkest beer on tap. Vienna Malt is the base, and molasses gives it a sweet taste.

One of the better beers from Birdsview, IMO. Chestnut hue. Big, sweet malt flavors, with notes of chocolate, caramel and rock candy. Decent hops, albeit subdued. Overall, it’s a richly sweet and tasty brown ale.

Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 3, 2008
On draught at the brewpub in Birdsview, Washington. Pours a semi-clear reddish amber brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring and film top. Aroma of caramel malt, some apple/pear fruit character and some toffee. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of caramel malt, pears a touch of candi sugar and light molasses. Finish is semi-sweet with a roasted dark malt aftertaste with no bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub. Chatted with Bill a bit this afternoon and he says his former exclusive relationship with three hops (Cascade, Hallertau, and Saaz) has changed due to the hop shortage. So all of his beers have been recalibrated because he can’t really get much of the green stuff. I liked pretty much everything they put in front of me today, but this was my first time here, so I can’t comment on what the beers used to be like compared to now.
Cloudey dark brown with a thick and creamy tan head. Plenty of stringy and sheeting lace. Rich molasses and brown bread nose. Rich high-medium body with perfectly placed carb: assertive but not overbearing. Brown bread, caramel, and molasses on the mid-palate. Nice clean sweet finish. Shocklingly un-boring for a regular brown.

On draught at the brewery. Aroma is caramel with light roast followed by light hop citrus. Appearance is dark copper with a moderate off-white head. Flavor is roasty with good bittering balance and some caramel notes. Mouthfeel is medium/high bodied with a slight creaminess and medium carb feel. Overall, nice and to style, but lighter in body than most, but with excellent balance.

Light brown and clear with small head. Aroma was roasted almonds and some mollasses. Slightly sweet with a sugary presence. Thinner and a little to sweet on the finish.

Cloudy light chestnut with golden accents. Sweet, almost molassesy aroma with hazelnuts in the background. The palate is sweet, with a sticky brown sugar character, light fruitiness, and subtle dusty yeastiness. Maybe a bit of diacetyl. Pretty rustic.
