8/22/2007: Birdsview Wheat-Eez is light amber and seems to have some good lacing despite the weak head. There seems to be some banana in the aroma, but the flavor is really grainy like a bad lager. This beer doesn’t look or taste anything like a wheat beer or hefe! It is a confusing mess and reminds me of a poorly concocted homebrew made with out-of-date extract! Yuck! However, the bartender did tell me some good news... They are going to discontinue this beer after this year!
Draught sample at the Birdsview Brewing Company in Birdsview, Washington. Rating #4 for this beer... Bradrcr (785), Renton, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2007 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is caramel forward, slightly nutty and very bready. Appearance has a very slight haze and a well retained white head. Flavor is sweet, very bready malt forward, followed by faint, slightly earthy hop flavor with no bittering. Finish is slightly sour. Mouthfeel is light bodied but creamy. Overall a sweet, pleasant American hef with some interesting blonde-like characteristics. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 26, 2007 This one was hard to figure out. It looked like a blend of an amber and brown ale in colour with almost no head. Aroma was thin, a touch of caramel and wheat. Flavour was sweeter with noticeable alcohol. A weird one indeed. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Dull amber colour with a slight haze. There’s a little bit of wheat in the nose, and a little bit of bread, maybe caramel but this has a fairly light aroma. Vague esters, hint of bubblegum, somewhat sweet flavour, and a little bit of alcohol in the finish. Muddled, going nowhere brew.
