Quite a light beer for 8.4%. Pours a cloudy caramel colour. Not particularly hoppy. Quite an easy beer to drink. Not the greatest of the Brewdog collaborations.

Bottle at the Chriso Snow Tasting, London - many thanks to Fergus for this beer! Pours cloudy auburn with a light, frothy off-white head. Tangy pale malts in the nose, light smoke. Light to medium sweet flavor with some Band-Aid character, faint caramel, mellow bread. Medium bodied with average to high carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with dry caramel, restrained smokiness, light tangy berries. OK, but a bit disjointed.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. A solid scotch ale without being amazing. The peated notes throughout are quite balanced though which is refreshing. Fairly easy drinking for an 8% brew. Good stuff

Odd, messy aroma. Wooly taste - ooh, there’s a surprise! Dry bitter finish. Alcohol reasonably well hidden, but you can tell it’s strong.

330ml bottle, lotto 125/12, shared with Finn on a Friday eve at The BrewDog Bar in Manchester. Firm off-white head reduced to a patchy surface. Dark orange coloured body, muddy. Smell of succulent citrus fruits, earthy malts and candy sweetness. Fruity flavour of oranges mingled with spices and herbs with underlying hints of smoked malt. Smooth bittersweet ending. Soft in the mouth. Refreshing (25.01.2013).

Bottle from Brewdog Birmingham; hazy amber pour, white head, sweet malt aroma, caramel taste quite sweet, malt a bit of mandarin, ok not brilliant.

Scopey (5511) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 26, 2013
Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting, thanks to mR_fr0g. It pours hazy deep amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is orange, mango, tangerine, spice, wood, alcohol, smoke and earth. The taste is caramel, wood, leather, orange, tangerine, mango, apricot, earth and charcoal with a dry, citric finish. Perhaps not the most balanced beer, but it’s interesting and pretty flavoursome.

Bottle. Amber with white head. Aroma of tcp and soap. Taste has more tcp and soap, plastic, solvent, some resinous fruitiness, peach and a touch of smoke. A rank mess.

mR_fr0g (1974) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2013
Bottle at Chrisos tasting 20/01/2013. One of my ones. Clear orange amber, thin white head. Heather, toffee aroma with faint smoke. Flavour oats, toffee with more wood and smoke / charcoal. Bit of citrus finish. Palate is spritzy with a dry finish. A lot going on in this beer. A little muddled, but generally a very interesting beer.
