Dark red-amber with fair, creamy, beige head, no legs (barrel-aged) / Lightly sour, delicate nose of orange fruit, dark fruit, caramel, and barnyard / Light to medium body, modestly sweet and sour, soft carbonation, excellent balance with alcohol well masked and lightly bitter finish / Complex, soft, elegant flavors of red apple, bitter orange, caramel, straw, raisin, parmesan cheese, wet dog, and oak / A beautiful, light, bretty beer.

Cloudy red - brown beer, good pale cream coloured head. Slightly frothy palate with mild prickly carbonation. Nice malt - has a honey streak. Mild floral orange. Semi dry finish. Nicely joined up and pleasantly off the beaten track.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt aromas of roasted and caramel, light orange for the hops, moderate dough and musty for the yeast, with raisin, date, brown sugar, alcohol and a hint of vinegar in the background. Head is large, frothy, beige with fair yet slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is muddy very dark brown with a thick amount if tiny particles. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy in texture which is almost hidden by the fizzy carbonation. It finishes moderately alcoholic. I didn’t care for the tart side of this Belgian Strong Ale, but the good aspects far outweigh a hitch in the flavor.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is my first (knowingly consumed) Italian beer, and I am pleasantly surprised. Pours a dark brown with lots of yeast floaties. Tan head, about 3-4 fingers.
Aroma of dark fruits, sweet malt. Very pleasant. You can smell booze as it warms up.
Taste: let it warm up a bit before you start drinking it. Lots of complex flavors that are beyond my ability to name. Reminds me if a dark Belgian strong ale, but obviously a different yeast character. Maybe some toffee and dark fruit.
Mouth feel: boozy, great carbonation, not too much, not too little. Pleasant after rate with a little sweetness sticking around after the swallow.
Great beer overall and I would definitely drink it again or offer it to friends that I like.

Full body, sweet with mild but sufficient bitter balance, perhaps from the bitter orange. Not as complex as the description suggests but easy drinking.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is murky medium to dark brown.
Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (caramel, cookie, milk chocolate), with notes of brown sugar, cinnamon, coriander, orange, alcohol.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, creamy/velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Pretty nice, all things considered. Yeah, it’s a big sweet boozy beer, but for this kinda thing it works fairly well. The aroma is mostly sugars but offers some nice spicy notes for allure. It’s sweet in the mouth, but rather than being fatiguingly syrupy sweet, it has a nice creamy texture and enough bitterness and alcohol to counter the sugars. It’s not the type of beer I enjoy drinking, but it’s a good rendition...kinda in the same vein as Abbaye des Rocs.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is sweet, yeasty, and fruity with caramel malt and spices. The appearance is cloudy dark amber with a large head. The taste is bitter and soapy with some fruit and spice but not what I expected from the aroma. The palate is average and the finish somewhat dry. Overall a beer that had promise in the aroma but disappoints in the flavor arena.
