4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Labove (273) - Rome, ITALY - JAN 7, 2011
4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Zarin (156) - ITALY - DEC 29, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2011 As sweet as honey as every Christmas beer should be, taste of caramel, fruits, a lot of belgian beer and some barleywine features at palate. The body is hardy. I’m only disapponted for the aroma, inconsistent at nose.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ErasmusRome (14) - Barcelona, SPAIN - JAN 11, 2011

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ReAle (120) - Rome, ITALY - DEC 3, 2010

Sweet orange and grape fruity aromas. Dark amber in color with fluffy white head. Sweet orange/grape fruity flavors with a grainy, winey, earthy finish. Complex and changing as you drink.

(Bottled, 0.75l, 2009 vintage) Clear, dark reddish color with a small but firm, tanned head (murky brown with yeast). Aroma of dried fruit, orange-peel, Belgian-style yeast, some anise, quite Xmasy. Flavor is also Xmas-spicy with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, coriander, toffee-caramely malt, dried fruit. Tiny hint of vegetably roughness. Medium+ body with low, soft CO2 - maybe slightly thin, but easy to drink and hides the ABV very well. A well-made, clean and easy-going Xmas beer. Gets even better and smoother with yeast - really nice stuff! 5236

From a magnum at Beer Table. Deep amber-orange pour. The nose is really lovely with a bright herbal/spicy nose. Fruity with a bit of cherry and strawberry. There is a really nice lightness to the aroma and some unusual fruitness. A bit of gooseberry and kiwi. The malts have a lightly grassy/grainy quality. A touch of soft spiciness toward the back of the palate. Fairly unique character with a bit of a floral character. Rose, orange and a bit of light yeastiness. The back finishes with a kiss of lactic tartness. Really subtle, complex and unique brew.

Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks MMM!). Slightly hazy deep amber colour with a thin off-white bubbly/fluffy head. Aroma is sweet and sour fruits along with some spices, mild yeastyness as well as some slight burnt sugary notes. Flavour is quite much the same with a slight alcohol warming touch. A quite plesant beer, even though it is rather sweet. Quite bodied as for the palate. Weird, but I like.
