COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Appearance: Hazy amber with finger thick ivory head. Aroma: Biscuit, bread, yeast, bread dough, note of pineapple, orange marmalade, floral and a vinous note. Taste: Medium sourness, low/medium bitterness and low sweetness. Palate: Thick coarse texture, light body, average carbonation, abrupt dry fruity, marmalade, malty biscuit finish. Comments: Very tasty and glass lace.

Bottle @ Chriso’s pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s light amber with a small head. The aroma’s quite sweet. Toasted brown bread slathered in honey. Marzipan and orange marmalade. Cantaloupe fruit leather. The taste is similar. Cantaloupe, marmalade. Nutty toasted malt notes. Somewhat overcarbed. Rough compost on the finish. Medium body, a bit knackered. Overall, this has probably seen better days. Still, there’s a good beer in here.

Bottled, thanks fonefan! Hazy deep golden, creamy head. Funky hay aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Hay and ripe fruits, some caramel. Mid bitter finish.

330ml bottle from Brewdog.com (£6.00):
Hoppy with tropical fruits and hops upfront with a strong smell of apricot among others . There is a sweetness to the beer as well, with a touch of spice and orange rounded off with a subdued citrus aroma.
Bright amber to orange colour with a thin, half centimetre head that is bubbly and stays solid for well over 5 mins.
Hops with some orange and citrus flavours and the apricot from the nose. There is a touch of peach and some sweet malts, some bitterness and some pine with tropical fruits.
Smooth with lively carbonation and a touch of alcohol around the middle. The body is about medium and goes down easy with a dry, semi-bitter finish.

A pretty good beer all round that fell somewhere between an English and an American IPA with plenty of hops and bitterness but also managing to strike a good balance between flavours and the aroma. Well worth a try.

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours hazy gold with a creamy white head. Nose of dusty pale malts, vague citrus. Light sweet flavor with forward sugars, pale malts, honey. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, dry pale malt finish. Kind of bland. Not much action.

330ml bottle from Archive. Good IPA without being great. Not over the top with the hops which is not a bad thing. Long finish.
