3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Taniguchi. Very tangy, citrus nose, acidic, yogurt, very fruity and interesting. Raisins and honey. Deep honey gold, lace. Very tangy, sour really. Lemon and orange and yogurt, raisin, honey. Interesting stuff. A bit funky. Tart and refreshing, definitely hides the alc. Quite nice. Sour and complex.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.33l bottle @ Baran. Not much of a head on this one. The little translucent thing that was there on the pour quickly fades. The beer itself looks slightly clouded and kinda dark orangy golden. Smells of sour olives with tones of honey bees, sour woods, sour red berries, and it’s almost salty in a way. Lots of unique aromas here and I’m quite enjoying it. It’s really soft on the bubbles almost what you can call flat and it has a thick oily feeling in the mouth. Reminds me a lot of a Flemish red. A good amount of woody white wine grapes also. Combined with sour green apples? Lots of interesting stuff going on here. Would not mind having this again! 28.02.2014

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Murky golden color, minimal head/lace/retention. Aroma is honey, nut, spice, fruity, light bread. Medium bodied, alcohol hidden well, strange spicy flavors.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a orange-gold color. If poured very hard, you get a 2 finger head, but this rapidly disappears completely. Aroma - sour, spices, raw grains - it’s complex and difficult to discern the variety of things going on here. Taste - tart, mild grain undertones. It’s highly effervescent in the mouth and finishes crisp and lingers like a bite of sour apple. This is very good and not at all what I anticipated, but I’m very pleasantly surprised. Delicious! I can’t wait to try the versions aged in stainless and wood now!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear golden with a fizzy white head that you can actually hear dissipating (like coke). Aroma herbal, yeasty, fruity (though what fruit exactly I have a hard time telling), bretty - this generally reminds me of a kind of lambic (high praise, as I love lambic). Taste much like I had expected from the aroma, highly acidic, fruity, notes of melon and wheat, thin. Palate sour and dry.
If this beer was served to me as a blended lambic I would not give it another thought. Although not quite as sour, it is still very acidic and tart. Seeing as "traditional ale" doesn’t have a style definition, I can’t really rate it based on stylistic accuracy. It is certainly not what I expected, and judging by other comments on this beer (no carbonation, a little sweet) compared with my own sample (plenty carbonated, and sour) it is possible that mine is simple contaminated somehow. Nevertheless, you rate the beer that’s in front of you, and what’s in front of me is damn good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy orange sienna color with a couple rising bubbles. The nose is awkward yet inviting, red clay, marzipan, apricot, apple cider. The palate follows the nose with strange yet tasty complexity. Really a unique beer that is pretty damn tasty. Lots of full round nuttiness, tart autumn fruit notes of bosc pear, gala apple, earth musk... thoroughly enjoyed this. Low carbonation if any but seems to work well with the flavors and mouthfeel on this one !

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Hazy amber body, small white head. Aroma is lightly tart with apricot, lemon, white wine, honey and licorice. Taste is sweet malty with honey and citric fruits, christmas spices and grass. A really interesting taste, and it seems very different from how I remember Baladins version. Slightly sour finish with a balancing sweet malt taste. While it’s a good beer there’s really no problem sharing it between two.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy dark orange. Flat no head. Little bits of yeast floating around. Sour nose. No carbonation. Has a fruity sour taste with some sugared candy in the back. Sweet and sour finish, weird. Not what I expected.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[10/16/13] Bottle at Luppolo12 in Rome. Hazy orange-amber. Sourish fruity aroma with some vinegar and honey notes. Sour flavor with some funk. Vinegar, light sweetness, honey notes, a bit of pomegranate, lemony notes and an acidic burn in the throat. Medium-bodied. A bit strange but decent. Alcohol is well-hidden.
