COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After the Equilibrista, our beer inspired by the Champagne world, here it is a new experiment on the “wine meets beer” theme. This time, though, we tipped the scales in favour of beer, adding to the Duchessa wort only a 25% of wine must: in this case we used Malvasia (coming from our friends of Tenuta di Bibbiano, as usual), a white, aromatic grape variety which gives the beer a gentle and nice sharpness and an inusual, fruity nose. The beer is bottle-fermentd using Champagne-yeasts, and it has a quite intense “perlage” (bubbles) that makes it perfect as an aperitif or even for the whole meal. The “chaotic” label was designed by Valentina De Luca, an Art student at the Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore Antonio Cederna of Velletri (Rome), who won our contest “Etichette Bizzarre”.

It was nice a little biut sour as the style but annoying after a while. Perhaps was not well conditioned there.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Gold body with spotty white foam on the surface. Aroma is win-like with fermented grapes, grape skins, wet wood and earthy funkiness. Taste is rather earthy and funky with more wine notes, grape skins, tart fruit, leather notes, wet wood and candied fruit. Body is light-medium with soft, bubbly carbonation. Dry during the finish as well. Ends with more wine notes, earthy notes, funky yeast, grape skins, wet oak and tart fruit,

Bottle thanks to Ansjelaah. Hazy yellowish to light orange to golden color, small off-white head. Very nice aroma of fruityness and wine with only the slightest sour hint. Tastes the same: winey, fruityness, peach and again just the slightest sourish hint. Well somehow I really like it. Nicely balanced, a bit dry in the finish, medium body and soft carbonation. Lovely.

Bottle @ benzai thx to ansjelaah. Hazy orange colour with small off-white head. Smells white wine, fruity (peach, apricot), wood. Tastes white wine, peach, sweet, wood (oak?).. Quite nice. I’m not a wine guy, but this is beer is a nice middle road between wine and beer. Medium body, nice carbo.

Draft at Alla Spina. Pours a clean gold with some white head that dissolves quickly. Aroma of old wine grapes, manischewitz, apple, champagne yeast, blackberry brandy. Light and crisp but that murky grape flavor drags this down.

Bottle. Pours a lightly cloudy gold with a small white head. Faint aroma of straw and light white grape. Flavor is lightly tart and strangely sweet with notes of straw, light white grape, and cider. Fairly bland overall.

Light gold, no head. Wine smells with booze. Very light and refreshing. White wine, champagne yeast, white grapes, malt, spices, apples, floral notes. Very refreshing with a dry finish.

From tap at The Porter. Pours clear and golden orange with a small whitehead. Aroma is fruity and roasted malty. Mills citric and fruity. Wineous and wooden. Lingering fruity. Smooth wooden to wineous finish.

2/26/13. Ticking RBWG leftovers at Kickbacks... thanks, Steve! Clear golden pour with almost no head... it really looks like wine. The champagne yeast gives it an almost apple cider aroma but with more dryness and rich fruitiness. Rich white wine flavor, again with apple cider, some fruitiness and malt, and a touch of lingering dryness. Interesting.
