Chestnut beer. Available January-March and September-November.

EBC: 19

Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Amber, small tanned head. Nose is wonderful, vanilla, sugar, almond, pie & marzipan. Taste is lesser, oxidation is a bit too high on this one (but these guys do appear to be simply into oxidation, which does work to a certain extent here), you get some oxidation, leaves, sugar, vanilla, marzipan & almond are a bit muted here. Body is oxidation all the way. Nose is lovely, wonderful, beer is pretty nice but it does feel like it could have been more going by the nose. Not getting the smoked malt to be honest.

Bottle from Open Baladin. Chestnut Amber brown. A fruity, nutty aroma with slight biscuit. Really interesting taste, acidic, tart, nutty with some grainy biscuitiness. Easy to drink and enjoyable brown ale, preferred by everyone over Palafrina by Troll...

From a really sexy bottle pours out chestnut color topped with small head. Nose is really nutty sweetness and a nice malt bill. Taste is nutty aswell with a good mellow malt bill. Glad I got to try this one.

0,75 bottle purchased in Rome and consumed in Serbia. Pours honey color, cloudy with a minimal gassy off white head. Nose: under fermentation must (yeast), sour notes, hidden chestnuts. Mouth: sour feeling but lack of character. Forgettable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Mad For Beer (Rome). Corpo leggero, carbonazione bassa. Autunnale, senza pretese, ma davvero ben fatta.

Bottle at home (batch LS170/11, best before 11/2013, shared). Pours hazy dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma of moldy wood, wet forest, bit of malty caramel. Taste is bitter sweet, slight malty caramel sweetness, hint of solvent like esters in the end, no trace anymore of (chest)nuts if there were any to begin with. Okay, but would like to taste this fresh.
