UPDATED: MAY 28, 2012 Buona birra davvero!

Caramel and malt flavour, I found it very good in taste especially for the chestnuts taste which is very noticeable. One of the best chestnuts based beer I’ve ever tried. Brown and tiny white head, and very pleasant in the final. My overall opinion is absolutely positive. I like this beer very much.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of honey and caramel malt with light roasted chestnut. Taste is also dominated by a complex mix between some chestnut and some honey with a nice malt caramelized backbone. Body is about average with nice creamy texture with great carbonation. Very well brewed with amazing level of complexity and great drinkability factor.

750ml bottle, cloudy amber hue, with a big frothy white head, yeasty, fruity, faint chestnut butter nose, with some ripe apple, pear esters, with a cookie dough, toasted, caramel, biscuity malt accent, with a soft multigrain granol bar, floral grassy hop note in the aroma follows through on amedium-palate with a yeasty, toasted, caramelized, biscuity, bready malt, light fruity ripe apple character, with a mild cookie dough, chestnut butter, dried dark fruit flavours upfront, and a hint of smoked, roasted chestnuts, and a faint flowery grassy, leafy hop undertone, leading towards a fruity yeastiness, malty, chestnut nuttiness, bready, lingering grassy hop bitterness finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy amber with some sediment. Potent fruity and chestnut aroma and flavours. On the sweet side, but still quite well-balanced. Interesting.

A good one but not so good than the other Birra del Borgo Beers. Tap beer in Bir & Fud (24.5.2009).

Bottle. Orange and flat. No carbonation and no lacing.Slightly cloudy with some fruitiness which lingers. Not bad but not one of my favourites from this brewery.

Huge, thick voluptuous if not permanent creamy (colour&consistency) foam over hazy orange beer. Very sharp initial vegetable/insectoid smell, going over in a more usual malt aroma, as from very fresh malt at the brewery. Sweet-bitterish taste, lots of unfermented sugars; very malty; sugary and vaguely nutty; some garden herbs or other vegetal notes. Without having a real longlasting taste, the palate keeps a sweet flavour that is indeed, not unreminiscent of purée de marrons. Very well bodied for such a low ABV beer. Remarkable brew, with an outspoken maltiness. With the exception of Pietra - and even then - most chestnut beers I know have this outspoken sweet taste - do they contain sugars that no Saccharomyces can handle? Where are the Bretts? Mille grazie ai Bertinotti!

Bottle. Dulled dark orangey beer with a light head. The aroma is yeasty and fruity, and the flavour is yeasty and sweetish fruity. Overall a reasonable yeasty fruity beer.
