2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Adenila (1459) - DENMARK - MAR 30, 2008
From 2006 and drunk March 2008, think it would be way better if it was fresh. Hazy deep orange with a small white head. Aroma was strong spicey along with fermented mandarine (was probably fresh few years ago), the spices included cloves and pepper. Flavor was sweet/spicey and completly lacking hops i think.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ungstrup (23918) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 19, 2008
Bottled. A gusher when opened. A murky orange beer with lots of sediment floating around under a lazing tan head with small specks of sediment. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of oranges and caramel, but also a light plastic note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of spices, caramel, and oranges, leading to a dry spicy finish, the spices include cinnamon and cloves. Drunk a month prior to the best before date - should probably have a shorter best before date on it, since I think the gushing is due to too much refermentation in the bottle.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Maria (8572) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2008
It’s a vintage 2006 and I had it January 2008. Red-golden and hazy with a huge, nice head. The aroma has notes of Christmas spices, orange, malt, caramel and sweetness. The mouthfeel is annoying, the carbonation makes it very fizzy. The flavour has a slightly bitter grapefruit note, a light sweetness, spices, old (OK meant) orange peal, slightly sour malt and grapefruit in the finish. IMO the balance could have been better.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, hay, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, peper, spices, pepper. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, and a nice dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is lively to soft. (171107)

Pours a dark amber with a tanned head. Smelled of vinegar as I opened the bottle after that brown sugar with a hint of apple. VERY sweet with lots of caramel and fudge flavors. Buttery, I suspect a diacetyl infection. Dry and very sweet finish with some flowers and sugar. Way too sweet.
