3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at Bir&Fud, Rome.
A very interesting "forest floor" and rose petal aroma (coming from Warrior hops, apparently) and then a complex bitter, malty and deliciously hoppy taste with lots of bitterness and fruity hop. Another lovely Del Borgo beer, but I’d say it’s more of an APA than a Saison?

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Gar Eden. Pale blond colour, creamy white head. Aroma is quite Belgian, grainy and bit of fruit. Taste is grainy, slightly herbal, bit of creaminess, light tropical fruit, peach and touch of citrus. Honey too. Pretty nice and good to find an easy drinking saison as recently people seem to be making them quite boozy. Quite soft.

Bottle from Plonk. Bright, clear golden, creamy white head, looks amazing, aromas of hay, bread, lemon zest, yeast, very fresh taste, fruity, herbal, mildly spicy, citrus, yeast, low bitterness, low sweetness, soft carbonation, very well balanced. Enjoyed it.

Artebirra Pasturana 2008: uno degli ultimi assaggi, piacevolissima saison di non grande complessità però molto molto uff che palle non ho più voglia di votare sto esercito di bicchieri.

750ml skittle bottle with expiry 7/15. Pours hazy pale golden with a nice tight white head and lace. Nose has notes of hay, lemon citrus, peppers, cheese, grass and pines. Palate is medium bodied and slick with medium fruity sweetness up front and a gently spicy dry hop bitterness to finish. Would make a great session beer if it were cheaper!

Deep blond with big head. Nice spicy and malty aroma. Light sweet and light bodied with nice flowery flavour.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Citrusy, floral hoppiness joins pale cereals and minutious fruit esters in this quenching and crafty session Saison.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sumptuous head of foam tops the cloudy blond.
-After having a few on tap and in the bottle, I get the impression that Del Borgo beers are more cohesive on draught.
-Carbonation is relaxed; at this strength, this makes the beer ridiculously drinkable.
-The finishing hop bitterness is herbal and wooden as well.
-The body is very well rounded for this gravity.
On tap at Bir&Fud, Roma.

Goes to the same category than Birra del Borgo Castagnale. An average one on tap in Bir & Fud (25.5.2009).
