COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
L’eleganza del farro dei Monti della Duchessa.
Birra prodotta con il farro, tradizionalmente coltivato nel territorio del Parco Regionale dei Monti della Duchessa. Si presenta dorata, con riflessi aranciati, appena velata; la schiuma è abbondante e pannosa. Al naso è molto ampia, fruttata (banana, ananas, frutta tropicale) e floreale, con un leggero e piacevole pepato. In bocca la gasatura è fine, c’è una leggera acidità e il corpo è adeguato. La luppolatura è moderata, il finale molto piacevole, fresco.

Birra non filtrata, non pastorizzata. Forma sedimento naturale. Ingredienti: acqua, malto d’orzo, farro (23%), luppolo, zucchero e lievito. Rifermentata in bottiglia.

on tap @ Sergio’s / Louisville KY --- Aroma of malt. Hazy medium amber color, White head cover, strings of lace. Taste is semi-sweet malt that adds light sour fizz on the swallow, and follows with sweet vanilla honey that bloom, then drops to reveal sour again. Complex and interesting.

Draught at Bir & Fud, Rome. Hazy, golden colour with a fluffy, white head. Fruity aroma with pale malts, yeasts, spices and citrus fruits. Taste is light bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a lively carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter with spices and yeasts. Uncomplicated, refreshing Saison.

Bottled at the Craft Beer Festival in Zagreb. Golden body with a small white head. Honeyish aroma, grainy, quite simple but lovely. The same goes on into the soft taste, honey, grainy notes, quite vague bitterness, almost none, with the soft, velvety mouthfeel disappearing into almost nowhere. Tasty stuff, though not exactly my style.

Dark golden/light orange, cloudy, persistent head. Aroma is very sweet, slight herbal note, banana. Taste is heavily sweet, reminds of wheat beers, maybe some herbal and lemon notes, not vivid though. Very bad chewy mouthfeel leaves an unpleasant sweet and musty feel on the palate. Goes down decently easy, gets worse as it warms.

11.1 oz (33cl)Bottle from Boise Co-op. Poured into Duvel tulip, lazy carbonation, suspended particulates, thickish body. Deep golden cloudy pour, smallest of heads. Floral herbal aroma, some cheese, some mustiness. Graininess in the taste, close to a witbier, but I think it is the alternate grain (spelt) which is driving this beer’s character. I’ve had this style before in Germany. spelt is an ancient food grain.

Draught at Hobgoblin. Mildly fruity with floral and earthy notes, pear, lemon, yeast, not much else. I guess that’s what a decent macro-kind of saison would taste like...

Bottle: Hazy orange color, white creamy head. Aroma is malty, yeasty with notes of oranges. Flavor is malty, hints of sugar, some acid and hops. Ends bitter-dry.
