3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12.7 oz. bottle- Pours hazy golden with lots of floaties and a two finger head that slowly reduces and massive carbonation bubbles. The aroma is sweet, malt, wheat. The taste is malty, (how is this a saison ?) sweet, moderately dry after the swallow. I am starting to think I am not a fan of Italian beers, the one exception being this breweries My Antonia, usually they seem to be too malty, and the kind of malt I personally don’t like.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Keg at Brewdog, Leeds. Pours a clear gold, small head. Aroma is very nice - floral and bakewell tart-ish: caramel, jam, almonds and a touch of biscuit. Taste is nice too - a little orange on the way in, a little more biscuity cake, jammy fruits and almond, and a small fruit cocktail kind of thing, with a Belgian yeasty twang throughout. Fairly full bodied, particularly for a ’saison’, and not as nearly as dry as a classic saison either. Not at all bad.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rough notes from Ølfestival 2013 , Tap 1. Almost clear golden with small white head. Quite sweet, flowery, light fruity, yeasty aroma. Maltdriven, sweet, phenollic, flowery hoppy taste with a medium bitter finish. Much too sweet for the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
75 cl bottle @ Ristorante Pizzeria "La Rustica", Gattico [NO], Italy. Had it paired with orata (sea bream) with pecorino cheese and saffron.
Pours a deep golden to orange colour, with the white foam taking some time to develop, not too thick anyway in the end. Beautiful. Fruity notes from the belgian yeast dominate the aroma, along with a faint floral note from the hops and a delicious rustic or earthy touch that I associated with central Italy, where it is from, and where you can find most of the emmer (which is partly present in the brew) cultivations of the country. Taste is pretty balanced, still more on the sweet side, with a medium body. Carbonation is average, unlike my favourite saisons where it usually a little bit more lively, which helps create an almost oily feeling. While it warms up you can also feel a touch of alcohol, not really pleasant. Finishes relatively dry, leaving a trace of its fruitiness. A fine brew, I wouldn’t put it among my favourites, but quite pleasant with the central-italian style dinner I had it with.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Keg at BrewDog Camden. It pours golden yellow with a thick white head. The nose earth, faint farmyard, hay, underlying sweetness, herbal, spice and bread. The taste is dough, light toast, spice, herbal, light citrus and faint floral notes with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate coronation. Run of the mill saison really. So-so.
