375mL. GUSHER!! Pours a cloudy, glowing light yellow with a billowing white head with excellent retention and scant lace. Excellent tangerine and lemon nose with subtle hints of white grapefruit from the lambic. Soft floral notes. Taste is wildly quenching like soft lemonade and a ton of overlap with Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. Maybe small hints of eggy sulfur and tart tangerine. Really soft and hot summer day quenching. Perfect for the style. Lightyears better than the normal Duchessa.

12.7 ounce bottle, 07 2013 stamped on the back label (I guess that’s the best by date). Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy gold color with a couple inch frothy white head that stays around for a long time. There’s also a good amount of lacing. The aroma is nice, it smells like peppery spice, lemon peel, pears, hay, wheat and some funk. It tastes like lemon peel, wheat, peppery spice, slightly tart lemons, apricots, white grapes and funk. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, with high (a little bit too high for me) but soft carbonation. I think this is a good saison/lambic blend. It’s pricey at $9.99 a bottle but I’d buy this brew again, I liked it.

In terms of Lambics, Birra del Borgo’s offering is up there with the top contenders. It strikes a perfect balance between the two worlds of a saison and a lambic. Blends the doughy yeast and complex sours quite gracefully. Complex beer, full of different flavor, very refreshing.

12.7 ounce from Louisville Beer Store. Orange body. Super dry. Pear. Apple. Wow. Very nice lambic with the yeasty character of a saison.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2011 Bottle. Saw at the store and after seeing if was mixed with lambic from Cantillon, figured it was a safe-ish buy to try. Bottle gives a healthy "pop" when opened and pours a very heady slighlty cloudy orange amber color. The head is bone white and slowly settles. Spice, yeast, biscuit, and a slight lemon in the nose. Interesting. Lemon sour note up front followed by a drawn out saison/farmhouse floral, orange citrus, and belgian yeast flavor. Light mouthfeel. Some lace left on the glass. Overall, a nice beer. Refreshing. Wonder what some time on a bottle would do?

Tasted on 11/11/11 from a capped 375mL bottle shared by ryan585. After a bit of gushing, the beer pours a cloudy yellow/orange with a massive white head that slowly recedes to an even layer of lace. The nose is white peppercorn, light bread malt, and spicy yeast, straightforward Saison, mixed with sour lemon notes and barnyard funk. This beer tasted just like a blend of Saison and Lambic should tasted, with the very lightly sweet light bread malt up front, and the lemon citrus notes starting to kick in, moving to the spicy Saison yeast and funky barnyard, finishing with lemon acidity and light hops bitterness. The body light with lively carbonation and a long, spicy, sour, and lightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Amber beer with a craem colored head. Tart/sour aroma with light spice. Sour, light acetic flavor with nice dark fruit and green apple. Medium bodied. Sour, light berry flavor lingers with nice fruitiness and light malt.

Bottle, mild gusher. Full foamy head, pale golden, cloudy. Pleasant mild aroma of chardonnay, a little grassy, touch of funk. Light bodied, mildly sweet, medium sourness with a drying easy finish. Exceptionally refreshing. Lingering aftertaste hints at a floral hop but very mildly so.
