Fra flaskepå Tap1 mai-123: det første speltøl jeg har smakt, og det gjester til tranfigelse. Interessant, minner om hveteøl.

Bottle split at my 40th bash, CBC Islo, thanks to Fergus 11/10/14. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bitter fruits, spice, yeast esters, grain. Taste comprises bitter citrics, orange, spice, light bread, yeast esters. Medum bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff.

20 May 2011, bottle at one of cgarvieuk’s legendary tastings. light yellow, faintly hazy with a fair amount of sediment. smells like a higher abv lager. a bit sweet with saaz hops and alcohol and honey. thin body and a bit creamy and slightly fizzy. sugary honey juice. ok.

Medium, whitish head over hazed orange beer. Citrus (orange), wheat, spices, orangeliqueur. Again citrus & wheat (or speciality grain...) mainly; possibly coriander, but restrained (enough). Still perfumey, and rather slanted towards the artificial. Warming up, ginger. Soft, velvety MF despite the more than adequate carbonation. The problem with del Borgo - and more Italian craftbrewers - is that their flavours are often a bit forced. This is no exception.
