(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with brief, foamy, white head. Fruity, floral nose with herbs, caramel and fresh grass. Fruity, herbal taste with notes of flowers, spices and bitter-sweet hints of gentian lingering in the background. Surprisingly light body, fairly dry. Refreshing and nice with balanced notes of gentian.

Wow! Amazing yet subtle pepper and spice streaks throught the nose and palate. Good hop action too; pale ale-like in this respect. Ultra-clean build that could be accused of lacking a little stuffing.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2008 750mL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a hazy, bright golden-honey color; some light and dark particulates; white head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing. Flowers, honey, and a touch of spice in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: slightly watery on the edges; floral notes, pepper, and sugary malts; pleasant yeast and esters, but sort of a messy rendition of a floral-dominated beer. Odd stuff, though I’ve come to expect such things from Italian beers. Medium finish: breadiness, spices, and some lingering floral notes.

Bottle from State Line. I like Italian beers. The bottles are interesting and unique, the styles are often interesting and always unique, and you never know quite what awaits you once for open the cap or pop the cork. This one pours turbid canary orangy with a 1-finger, fluffy off-white head, great lacing, and numerous small particulate floaties. The nose is dry florals, orange zest, hopcitrus, apricot, and spicy yeast. The flavor is dry, floral, spicy, yeast, with apricot, peach, orange zest, and hopcitrus, all combining to form a velvety palate that is so smooth I almost thought this one was nitrogenated. Nice complexity.

Medium-bodied with clear flavours of grass, lemon, Seville oranges, flowers, honey and herbs. Short but really fresh aftertaste of flowers, mild herbs and mandarin. A refreshing and rather unique beer..
