4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1614) - Asshat, - JUL 13, 2009
First of the expensive Italian beers found at Khoury’s in Henderson, NV. Gentain? First impression makes me wish that I had access to this in Edmonton.
Poured out a bright hazy gold brew with an ok amount of white foam, leaves lots of ropy lacing and has good retention as a skim. The aroma is great with a unique sweet fruity punch, very floral and herbal. Tangerines, unsweetened berries, wet grass and an unknown herbal aroma that is new to me. Good taste as well, very balanced with all these flavours: some sort of orange, berry, weakest of pepper (maybe), grass, flowers of some sort and the mystery flavour. Medium bodied, smooth throughout even with the fine, sometimes biting carbonation. Finishes with a bit of bitterness and more orangy fruit. This was a very good beer. Would be great on a hot day.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 beerisgoodforu (644) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - AUG 12, 2011
Bottle. Pours a nice slightly hazy golden yellow color with a frothy bright white head. Aroma is very sweet with some pear, citrus, along with loads of floral and earthy notes and some breadiness. Smells kind of like a Belgian Ale. The flavor is again quite sweet and sugary, with the floral and earthy gentiana notes, I also get some citrus, breadiness and an almost yoghurt taste. The body is medium with a lightly glossy/sticky mouthfeel. Overall quite an interesting beer because of the gentiana root.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 tabernae (115) - Latina, ITALY - JUL 30, 2011
