light brown color. Not enough roast in the body and comes across much more like a hoppy brown ale, with tropical fruit notes. Very similar to Baird Angry boy brown ale. Not a black IPA at all. Not bad, if trying for brown ale.

[5415-20130531] Sample. Mild orange grains aroma. Hazy, brown amber body with a huge long-lasting creamy mocha head. Bitter mild citrus grains flavour. Medium body is fairly bitter. Quite tasty and bitter. (6+/4+/8/4/16) 3.8

From Craftissimo. Dark cloudy red-brown with a thick, very fluffy but creamy looking tan head. Smells quite malty, some plum/raisin, hop. Tastes more hoppy than the aroma - very bitter, herbal, almost minty/medicinal. Body is oily but a little thin, frothy.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Dark dark amber pour with thick foamy head (doesn't look dark enough to be a black IPA). Aroma is appealingly hoppy - pine and Granny Smith apples with a bit of breadiness too. Palate is light and smooth (like all Borgo beers I've had, though this one not as smoothly carbonated). Assertive hops in the taste - sharp and crisp but enough malts to round out the taste nicely. A of bit sour apple, pine, and bitterness. The most "American" of the Borgo beers I've had I think. Really good.

På fat. Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, svarta vinbär och toner av röda bär. Rund, smörig, len. Fruktig med fin beska.

From a 330ml bottle on 24/6/2014. Pours a clear dark amber with a small head. The nose features a combo of fruity hops with some mild roasty notes. The flavour follows suit with some moderate roasty and chocolate malt set off against some sweet fruit and a firm, satisfying hop kick Has a medium body and fizzy carbonation. A very solid, enjoyable black IPA from a consistently good brewer.

Murky brown beer with a beige foamy head. A lovely and fresh fruity aroma. Medium body. Grape fruity hops. Sweet caramel in taste. A lovely hoppy dark ale.

ALLOVATE (2406) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 21, 2014
Hazy, midnight brown with very little life to be seen. Head took a rough pour to evoke but lapses quickly back to a few loose suds of beige that cling desperately to the meniscus. Strong note of sarsaparilla, burnt sugar, camphor and eucalypt on the nose amongst a normal grapefruit base. Mineral-like, chalky mouthfeel with soft, peppery carbonation. Juicy grapefruit back-end that is also bordering on Semillon wine that leaks into the moderately bitter, fruity swallow. Good length; smoky aftertaste is pleasant with the fruity, vinous overtones. Nice, nutty, piney mix mid-palate with a hint of burnt sugar and grapefruit up front. Nothing extraordinarily unique of this one. It is actually quite softly spoken all in all. Very sessionable but lacking in depth. Solid. (33cL, no date stamp, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

330ml bottle from The Wine Emporium 231213. Easy drinking this one, gives down well and doesn’t strip your palate. Nice and hoppy.
