3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the Badge-Whore Bowl (OSU vs AL) tasting on 01/01/2015. The beer is a dark brown color with some ruby around the edges and a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and pine. Light-bodied with flavors of roast malt, resiny hops and a bit of citrus. The finish is malty up front with a piney hops aftertaste. I was honestly skeptical about an Italian Cascadian Dark Ale but I was pleasantly surprised with this above average brew.

Keg@against the grain
Deep ruby amber with dense foamy beige head. Berry fruits and yoghurt on the nose, sherbet, sharp, perhaps kiwi hops, pithy dry finish. Decent but not really a BIPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Backlog rating. Keg at Kings Arms tap takeover, London. It pours a hazy dark brown color with ruby edges and a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts and dried fruits, toffee. Taste is quite harsh roasty and bitter with notes of coffee, earth, cocoa, tangy red berries and piny hops. Finishes resinous and bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Decent BIPA, not the freshest hops

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught. Dark brown with reddish tint, small foamy beige head, floral hos aroma, medium carbonation, pine and lavender flavored balanced hoppy taste, medium finish with slight bitterness at the very end. Quite a complex and interesting beer, loved it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
first thing - a really nice bottle and label, it stands out.
surprisingly, the beer isn’t black, but dark-brown - but I think it can be the case with CDAs. the best thing about this beer is the aroma, hoppy, with lots of esters, it comes out really nice. the taste is also very hoppy - not only in bitterness, which is quite high but very noble and short, but also in the taste as such. It’s really enjoyable. foam is nice, too. drawbacks? a bit too thin, I think it would be better with a slightly more ’full’ body. a bit soury too, but it’s not a problem for me - it’s got this estry-fruity character which not everyone might like, but for me it’s great. a good beer with a fabulous aroma.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
dark brown, small but solid head, loads of lacing. Tropical nose, obvious simcoe character. Quite easy with a bitter finish. Easily the best black IPA I have ever had

Draught at Brewdock. Dark Amber with a thin head. Aroma is big hop. Flavour is pepper spice, hop on a watery dry spice finish
