Tap. Brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of citrus, caramel, malt and hops.

18/11/12 - 75cl bottle @ Horecaexpo (Gent) - BB: III/14 (2012-1286)

Clear dark amber to almost brown beer, small off-white irregular head, unstable. Aroma: lots of sweet sugary fruits, syrup, honey, sweet malts. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: some caramel, bit sweet, bitter hops, fruity, ripe peaches. Aftertaste: very bitter, dry, some grapefruit, lemon peel, little spicy, some alcohol coming through. Pretty good beer!

Colore marrone tobido, schiuma infinita non compatta ma durevole, al naso è veramente notevole con note di luppolo e malto tostato, leggermente fruttata e resinosa. In bocca è equilibrata, amara e ben luppolata con note leggermente resinose e tostate. Ottima.

03/06/2012 La Tana (tap). Marroncina, non molto intensa, torbida, bel cappello di schiuma bianco sporca, a grana grossolana, abbastanza persistente. Naso splendido, come consuetudine per le creazioni di Leonardo, luppoli e malti tostati si sposano alla perfezione. In bocca è un bel mix di malti tostati e luppoli, con un perfetto equilibrio generale. Corpo un po’ leggerino, carbonazione corretta. Birra magnifica.

Pours dark brown but turns black as it pools in the glass with a big off white head. Nose is fresh pine, roasted coffee and ocean spray. Taste is mostly bitter throughout. This beer pours a nice black colour with decent lasting white head. The aroma is fresh and full of resiny hops. The flavour is lightly burnt sugar with citrus bitterness. Very enjoyable Italian black IPA.

Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. really nice.

# 3047 ersma: auch in einem typischen weinland wie italien macht die kleinbrauerei-bewegung große fortschritte. birra del borgo gehört da schon zu den etablierteren, seit 2005 wird gebraut. „cascadian dark ale“ heißt es im untertitel, was uns einen hinweis auf den verwendeten hopfen geben könnte. oder auf gushing. dunkel rubinfarben bis bräunlich steht es da, gekrönt von einem beigfarbigem schaumberg, der sich sehr stabil gibt. intensiv fruchtig-grasiger geruch mit etwas säure. zitrus, grapefruit und passionsfrucht sind deutlich. der antrunk ist bitter und fruchtig. auch hier grapefruit und passionsfrucht sowie herbe kräuter. dazu aber auch leicht süße akzente, die zur mitte hin klarer hervortreten, obwohl die herbe und bitterkeit noch stärker wird. schmeckt auf jeden fall nach mehr als den angegebenen 55 ibu. der abgang ist leicht abnehmend bitter, die herbe bleibt aber bestehen. hier tritt die süße erwas deutlicher hervor, im späten abgang wirkt sie mit einem hauch karamell schon fast versöhnlich. langer nachhall. die hauseigene 0.75-l-flasche mit reliefprägung ist der hammer. fazit: unglaublich fruchtig. dank der schwebenden süße wirkt es nicht übertrieben ipa-ig sondern kommt sehr ausgewogen rüber, wenngleich auch akzentuiert bitter. unbedingt probierenswert. 14,12,12,12,15,12 12,35 27/4/

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120512]
