Bottle at home from alesela
chestnut tinged dark brown with fluffy dark beige head collapsing to lacing. Rich, fruity, red apple, smoky, cocoa. Full bodied up front, fruity, quite tannic with a dry herbal earthy finish. Definitely tobacco forward but not 100% sure I’d have picked it out without the prompt. Fairly warming, perhaps needs a bit of extra body for balance but good stuff. Gentle carbonation with an earthy roast barley/coffee finish.

Bottle from Hippo Beers, Glasgow. Pours black with a big tan head. Nice quite rich chocolate and coffee flavours. Some aniseed too. Just a little on the thin side. Pretty good.

Pitch black, nice carbonation, weak head. Smell is caramel, malt, red wine, touch of orange peel. Rose petals? Toffee apple... unexpected things, but good! Taste is well balanced, spicy fizzy cherry sweet bitterness with a touch of citric sourness. Refreshing, with a light almost saison-like sourness.

Pours a hazy dark brown with a small tan head. It's quite low bodied with a velvety texture. It has hints of smoke and coffee on the nose with an additional milk chocolate aroma. Taste is very much the same with a subtle bitter finish. One of the first porters I've tried and very much enjoyed it!

Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, smoke, tobacco, some peat. Flavour is light sweet with a dry and moderate bitter finish. Body is on the light side. Enjoyable.

From Craftissimo. Opaque watery brown-black with no head or lacing. Smells of raisin, nutty dark malt, some smoke. Tastes nicely bitter, ash, citrus, dark but with a crisp acidity. Body is thin but quite smooth. Aroma is too sour/raisiny for me but otherwise a surprisingly bitter enjoyable porter.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Dark brown/light black pour with tan head. Aroma is roasted, sweet, slightly sour and hoppy. Taste is sort of sour/tart on top of a brown ale/light porter. Also very bitter hoppy towards the end. Tart and a bit smoky finish. Big flavor despite the somewhat light body. Not as smoky as I expected, which is fine. Interesting beer - tasty too. Would get again.

375ml bottle in Mother Kellys. Opaque very dark brown beer with a beige creamy foam head. Nose is vegetal, cut green peppers, milk chocolate, tobacco leaf, roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. It’s also got a hoppy acidic, citrous, plant stems, dry hops on the tongue.
