24/05 A 0.75 l bottle, my obolus for a great tasting eve, for which thanks again goes to ogivlado and Marko. Brown, almost black bodied. Quite nice coffee and chocolate aroma. Flavor reveals some tobacco, entwined with chicory. very shy and subdued by strong roasted maltiness. Generally, flavor was on a bit acidic side, but has strong sweetish component as well. Medium to full in body. Tobacco was even more felt in the aftertaste, along with coffee acidity. Interesting and pleasant porter.

Bottle at home. Has a deep brown to black colour with a creamy medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, smoke, coffee, leather, wood and some tobacco. The flavour is similar with a decent nice touch of smoked malt. Slick and silky mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. A nice roasted and smoked porter.

Bottle @ RBESG’13 Grand Tasting @ De Molen: Served in a Molen taster: Thanks for sharing DutchDrebus: Smaller sized creamy beige foamy head that changes quick into a lacing on top of a deep dark brown colored beer. Aromas of coffee, roast, candle wax, chocolate, raisin, spices and light chalk. Flavours of mocha, cacoa, caramel, marzepin, coffee, spices, bitters, barley roast and chocolate. Aftertaste is a mix of roast, mocha, light coffee and some spices. Low carbo, soft creamy silky mouthfeel, medium to full bodied and a creamy texture. Nice.

(bottle) pours a murky ruby-brown colour with lots of floaties and a frothy off-white head. aroma of heavy raisins, brown sugar and treebark, slightly acrid, with a hint of earth. flavour is mostly caramel, cappuccino and dark chocolate, with a mellow sweetness and a light-bitter finish. medium to heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle at RBESG ’13 Grand Tasting. Pours pitch black with a medium tanned head and particles floating in it. Aroma is quite roasty, coffee and only a little bot of chocolate. Taste has more chocolate, some roasted malts and coffee, soft to medium bitter finish. Bit too thin body.
