750 ml bottle. LS220/11. BB 01/2014. 5.8%. From Roybeer, Milan, Italy.
Dark reddish brown almost black colour with small to average sized light tan head. Sweet sugary aroma with mild sourness and roasted malt. Alcohol in flavour with dark sugar, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee roast and mild sweetness. Something not so fresh in aroma and flavour. Maybe that’s the tobacco. Quite pricey and disappointing. I guess there’s no use mixing beer and tobacco. Alcohol in very much present for a 5.8% brew. I guess tobacco brings it up.

On tap at BeerDeLuxe. Great porter, very well balanced. Aromas of caramel, milk chocolate, and coffee. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and sour notes; long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy head.

Dark brown body with small tan coloured lace. Very much milk chocolate like, somewhat nutty and earthy, with some dark hops to balance and a clean yeast character. Nice amount of carbonation to balance the inherently sweet malty taste. Quite a sticky mouth feel, but full of flavour so that’s fitting the beer. Nice one (albeit expensive). (75cl bottle)

Cask at Bir & Fud, Trasteverev Roma - 04/10/12. Dark black with a decent frothy tan head. Roast malts on the nose, some hops, sweet chocolate and light coffee tones. Big roast malt flavour, sweet chocolate and dark sugars. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a dry finish.

Thx. to Kraddel // 75 cl. bottle split // brewed with Kentucky tobacco leaves // that is certainly a new one for me // typical atypical del Borgo bottle // pours black with a smallish tanned head // smells sweet of mocha, dark sugar, light roast, milk chocolate, tad sticky molasses and neat cigars, not like roll tobacco but like smelling the outside of a neat cigar // taste is lightly complimenting bitter, once again that yummy softness of the outside of a cigar, mocha, light roast, sweetish milk chocolate, cocoa powder, getting heavier on the roast towards the finish, some hops and bitter tobacco this time around more closer to tobacco // very smooth tad milky, super easy to drink // yummy // kind of really makes me want to smoke // this one is a good Italian
