3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a cloudy gold, white head with minimal lace. Grassy hoppy nose with hints of bright malts and roasted corn and wild flowers. The flavor has a candy, bubblegum sweetness up front but finishes with a bold bitterness. Well balanced and a pretty tasty beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light golden pour with a frothy white head. Mouthfeel is bizarrely creamy with an almost whipped feel. Olives, lightly bitter hops, lemon rind in the aroma. Flavor is yeasty, with lemon and a bit of bitter hops and light floral flavor. Oily, with a Dry finish. Interesting but pleasant

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft… Mostly clear, light golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. The bouquet is of pilsner malt, toffee and sharp, spicy, earthy hops. Full-bodied and a touch oily with busy carbonation. Leans on the bitter side of balance - very nice, sharp hop bite. Finishes bitter and dry.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on tap at Church Key DC 10/22/09: Pours a hazy pale golden with an airy pillowy white head. Has a sweet pale malty nose with some fresh grapefruity grassy hops and a touch of light fruiity floral notes. Starts with good fullness and sweet biscuity pale maltiness with a nice balance of resiny citrusy hops and crisp bitterness before a drier bittersweet finish. Pretty well-balanced and true to style.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tap @ Blind Tiger. Poured crystal clear light gold color with an off-white head. Buttery diacetyl aroma. Grassy and bready malt notes. The flavor was light and full of bitterness to the point of almost being astringent. The mouthfeel was very slippery from the diacetyl. Light-medium bodied. Dry with a very long very big bitterness. Not my cup of tea.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Clear, pale golden pour. Minimal, white head. The aroma has notes of hay, toasted grain, honey. Hints of grass, lemon, bread. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. The maltiness sticks around through the finish overriding the hop notes, not unexpected in a strong lager. No problem drinking this. Unique with a fine balance.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a mostly clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet yet buttery with some DMS, honey laden big toasty pale malts, bready, big to the point of being sharp- vanilla and earth hints. Flavor is vanilla creme filling in a donut, big toasty sharp pale malts, honey sweet, DMS is mod to light- gets a touch slick, some earthy and slightly weedy grassy hops, resin, raw harsh bitter finish and not that clean or refined overall- meh.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a crystal clear, medium golden hue. Effervescing bubbles stream towards the surface, pooling into a small, foamy, off-white head. Solid sheets of micro-film lacing provide full coverage on the glass. Aromas kick off with notes of sweet, clean cereal grain, hay, bread, and a hint of honey. Softly grassy hops provide the counterpoint. Flavors are a bit sweeter than I care for in a pils, no doubt due to the hefty grain, bread, and dough malt notes. Though it’s hoppy, the grassy, lemony bitterness fails to catch up to the malty sweetness. Accordingly, the palate is just a bit overly hefty, lacking the fresh crispness that I was hoping for. Pils is a style best left "small" in my opinion. The "imperial" versions rarely live up to expectations, and this one is no exception. Still, it’s a pretty decent brew, and they showed a little restraint in that they could have certainly beefed it up even more.
