drank this head-to-head with the Dogfish version. Huge head on this one, nose was still hoppy but less flowers than the Dogfish counterpart; taste was slightly floral, but with more friut notes.

(75 cl bottle from Kervans; BBD: July 2013 Batch #95 11) Pours a pale, slightly hazy, golden with rich carbonation and a an extremely frothy, white head - it’s almost like pouring liquid foam directly from the bottle. Good retention and lace. I poured it in a tall glass so the aroma seems to have been contained somewhat by the head but I detect vague, floral, hoppy odours as well as something tart and some honey-like yeasty notes. The taste is a bit surprising though. Not much residual sweetness, some acidic and sour notes followed by a moderate bitterness. Oily texture, thin body and a long, bitter finish. I am not convinced this beer was supposed to smell or taste like this? I haven’t experienced any other beers from this brewery but the impression I got from this bottle was far from what I’d expect a pale lager with American aroma hops to be like.. unfortunately a disappointment and at 13€/bottle a rather expensive one.. girlfriend says: "It’s quite strange. Very bitter but drinkable."

12/07/2011 Open Baladin Roma (tap). Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Una strong lager davvero sorprendente. Complimenti a Leonardo e a Sam!

375mL bottle. ($7.99 / bottle.) Golden color, a touch of haze. Tall, foamy, white, frothy head. Leaves sexy lace all down the neck of the glass. Aroma of mixed berries. Scent is wine like, resembles a Pinot Gris. Flavor is sweet, fluid grains, light citrus effervescence, soft malts, gentle straw pils malts. Finishes with a straw character with grassy Saaz hops and a citrusy Simcoe presence. Delicate, elegant, and perfect in every way a beer could be. The most well made beer I’ve ever had. So soft and divine. Loads of fruit without fruit being used. Amazing. (3251)

Gusher, pours dark copper, almost brown if not for the reddish hues. Giant head, had to wait a while for it to settle down. Nose is hay and grass, pine. Taste is bittersweet, closer to sweet than bitter which I would expect the opposite in a Imperial Pils. It does have a sharp bite at the end though. Palate is smooth and creamy, aftertaste is average.

Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, Mo. Bottle is standard embossed Borgo and the label is sort of shield shaped. Pours hazy gold with champagne like bubbles and a creamy/frothy white head. Aroma is fruity and grassy. About med body. It’s just a bit bready, and it’s thick with hop. So hoppy it is lush in the mouth. Mostly not harsh. So back to grassy and fruity, and some floral. A very nice drink. Recommended for those who enjoy lots of smooth hop. It finishes smooth and quite bitter.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2012 Deep golden color with rather large white frothy head. Nose is of what you would expect from a pilsner, something of a floral hop scent. Taste is Extremely similar to the nose, very floral.

Pours cloudy golden wih a modest off-white head and a floral aroma. There is a hearty pilsner malt flavor that sticks to the palate and an appropriate hop bitterness. This is a very nice pilsner.
