3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A pleasant semi-sweet, yeasty, fruity, slightly spicy blonde ale. Good.
How: From a bottle at Mondial De La Bière 2012
The look: Cloudy yellow-blond body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Nose is bright with some kind of spiced mandarine cocktail over a bed of flowers, very aromatic stuff here. Taste is like chewing on a mix bag of dried fruits (dried little orange cubes, dried slices of bananas, dried apricots, more…), some coriander-ish and ginger-ish spiciness, honeyed hay, dusty yeast, grassy and floral hops. Strong yeast presence. Yellowed grass in the finish almost dry out the beer. Pleasant big fluffy mouthfeel with a lively carbonation. A bit too sweet for my dryness-seeking palate but I found it nonetheless enjoyable. Got a generous 6oz sample and can easily imagine myself drinking a lot more of this. Another beer I had at Mondial 2012, I was using all my lunch breaks from work every day to go to Mondial and drink beer instead of having lunch, but don’t you dare calling people like me a drunk (us drunks really hate that).

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl in teku, tried couple of times or maybe more on tap over the years. Pours a moderate head but quite lasting, really nice shiny and bright yellow colour, deep and homogeneous cloudiness. Smells really floral, fresh, cereals, honey, chamomile. The aroma is not strong and punching with the hops like most brews nowadays, but much more on the aromatic and noble german/czech, which gives the beer a phenomenal character. Tastes bready, yellow fruits, sweet grass, seems like a sort of mountain herbal infusion (before the hops come in); low to medium sweetness and bitterness, which obviously stays there more, but that’s a remarkable overall balance. Medium bodied, perfect moderate carbonation, silky. A real blonde, probably one of the best if not the best pilsener I’ve ever tasted

American hop aroma. Bitterness is too grassy and gets in the way of balance. Dry finish with Grassy aftertaste.
