4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottle from Artigian Beer, served in a shaker glass. Dark and rich sunrise orange, almost amber, with a very small off-white head, which dissipated quickly leaviing a tiny ring of foam. Mesmerizing aroma, complex and powefrul, with notes of red fruits under spirit, burnt caramel and toffee, wet wood, leather. Zero alchool on the nose. Toeasted malts emerging in the mouth, quite fruity, again caramel (sticky and sweet), a hint of alchool, but I’d never guess about 11%+! Resiny aftertaste, which lasts forever. Extremely soft carbonation, medium to full body and oily texture. I had never tasted a shot of Calvados, but now I have to! Lovely stuff, great barrel aging.

Di color ambrato scuro con una buona schiuma. Al naso odori di legno, vaniglia, frutta gialla matura, miele, vin santo. In bocca è alcolica, calda con un finale complesso.

Strong caramelly sweetness, much sourness and some sweet and sour vinegar like notes. Very strange. Sour candy. Vinegary aftertaste.

330 ml bottle. #3898. LS 49/12. BB 09/2014. Courtesy of Brandman.
Hazy mahogany colour with no head.
Sweet fruity and berries, strong sweet maltiness and caramel in the aroma.
The flavour is mild sourness, sweet maltiness, caramel sweetness and lots of more sweetness... sweetness.
Very smooth and enjoyable for a 11.2%

Bottle on The Train Tasting, Part I. Pours lightly hazy, orange-gold with a light, white foam head. Nose of dried fruits, pale wood, apple and honey. Medium sweet flavor with more honey, sugary bread and bruised apples. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky ripe fruit finish with faint alcohol warmth, light woodiness, more apple and honey, bread. Moderate dryness to finish as well. Nice stuff.

Very hazy deep amber beer, big cream coloured head. A little fresh apple and a whisper of bubblegum on the nose. Palate is softish and airy with very light carbonation. A little creamy malt for a base. A nice fresh apple vibe, touch of wood and salt. Integrates well with the creamy malt. Nice barrel aged beer but the base beer seems utterly subsumed. Decent though!

Bottle. Was a bit sceptical to this beer, calvados barrelling an iipa? Luckily there was no reason to fear this being a bad beer. The hazy copper colored body is covered by a fast disappearing low beige head, uncovering a sweet fruity, like a warmm fresh fruitpie, aroma of baked apples, fresh orange, blackcurrant, clove and honey. Sweet! Taste has a heavy malt base, aplles, citrus and peach, pepper, light alcohol taste, and a sweet palate Not exactly the bitterness of an iipa, but who cares about style, the soft bitterness suits this beer. Finsh is hoppy with a light sweet alcohol touch. A nice and different beer.
