Bottle from Plonk (April 2014). Dark orange/copper, small tan head, orange peel, baked apple, wood, burnt caramel, alcohol, piney bitterness, thick, syrupy texture, long bitter, boozy finish. Nice.

Bottle from Mother Kelly’s, to sup at home while watching the Italian Grand Prix F1 race. Light aroma with a little hint of candied fruit peel. Balanced & smooth taste - everything comes together well with a hint of the calvados in there. A successful barrel-aged beer IMHO in that the barrel elements haven’t dominated or been too heavy, and the beer tastes mature and ’together’.

Bottle. This is a big boozy beer! very sweet and sticky, but not as much apple flavour as I was expecting; the barrels have mainly emphasised the booziness. Still a very delicious beer!

Bottle: Served in a taster: Small white head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer. Aromas of flowers, yellow fruit, some yeast, some citrus... Flavours of porridge, earth, some yellow fruit, vinous, malts and bitters with a light spicy edge. Aftertaste is a mix of red fruit, malts, yeast and light spicy. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture. No real traces of Calvados BA... But a good beer.

330 ml bottle from Artigian Beer, served in a shaker glass. Dark and rich sunrise orange, almost amber, with a very small off-white head, which dissipated quickly leaviing a tiny ring of foam. Mesmerizing aroma, complex and powefrul, with notes of red fruits under spirit, burnt caramel and toffee, wet wood, leather. Zero alchool on the nose. Toeasted malts emerging in the mouth, quite fruity, again caramel (sticky and sweet), a hint of alchool, but I’d never guess about 11%+! Resiny aftertaste, which lasts forever. Extremely soft carbonation, medium to full body and oily texture. I had never tasted a shot of Calvados, but now I have to! Lovely stuff, great barrel aging.

Di color ambrato scuro con una buona schiuma. Al naso odori di legno, vaniglia, frutta gialla matura, miele, vin santo. In bocca č alcolica, calda con un finale complesso.

Strong caramelly sweetness, much sourness and some sweet and sour vinegar like notes. Very strange. Sour candy. Vinegary aftertaste.
