Crea assuefazione!

On tap. Now THIS is an IPA. All of the flavors that you are expecting from an IPA are here, but represented in a very complex way. The smells are amazing, and the journey from first sip to aftertaste is amazing.

Pours slightly hazy golden color with white head. Citrus fruit aroma with some breadiness. Grapefruit and orange flavor with some dough and caramel. Medium body with lively carbonation. Good but pricey.

pint at the Publick House Brookline, 07/08/11. Ok aroma, sweet. Little GF bite, but was more malty than I’m use to for an ipa. like a honey wheat bread scent. Clean brownish orange color, ok head and lace. Mild bitter flavor. Medium body, oily smooth mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Ok really mellow for an IPA. aroma marginnaly better than flavor. Just had to have an Italian ipa....

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a frothy off white head. The aroma is like in a west coast IPA, alot of grapefruit, some peach, mango, the sweeter citrus fruits like orange and tangerine and sweet malts. The flavor isn’t as hoppy as the aroma, but I get the grapefruit, tangerine, orange and peach along with a sweet malty backbone and some candy like sweetness. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid IPA!

Very wonderfull and very nice IPA. The colour is just like it should be. It looks fresh, orange/gold, summer-like. The smell is very good. Very hoppy and fresh. I think it’s made of American hops. Bitter smell also. Taste is also very good. To me it could use a bit more grapefruit notes and a bit more bitterness.. but still. Great beer.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 Draft at The Heorot. Deep amber body with an off-white, frothy head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of orange and grapefruit. Caramel, citrus and peach. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture and moderate to lively carbonation. Orange and grapefruit, along with some resin, are more noticeable in the flavor than in the aroma. Smooth IPA, very quaffable. Could have been a bit more flavorful, but overall a nice IPA.

Bottle shared at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Presentation of Italian beers from Borgo, Amarcord and Baladin (many thanks to Benito!). Best beer I had that evening. Great hoppy, grapefuit-like smell with some other fruit. Really good hoppy taste. Nice balance. Palate really good as well.
