Bottle. Amber pour with a tall, frothy white head. Aroma is floral hops, citrus, yeast notes, and soft pine. Taste is big floral hops and citrus fruit with soft caramel notes, sweet malt, tropical fruit, yeast and light pine. Slight hint of herbal hops as well. Body is medium with a smooth, creamy carbonation and a light lingering bitterness. Finishes with more citrus fruit, floral hops, light herbal notes, tropical fruit, soft pine and faint caramel.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2011 Tap @ Valhalla w Streets and James. Nice, solid dark-amber pour and big white lacing which stays around. Aroma is ultra fresh hops. Palate is fresh, citra hops and excellent balance. I have never had an Italian IPA but if this is any indication, I’d like to try more.

Draft at Valhalla with streets and Brendan. Pours a deep hazy amber with foamy white half inch head. Aroma is full of citrus hops. Mouthfeel is medium and refreshing with notes of citrus, pine, soap and a light malt.

On tap The Bavarian Lodge. Pours a mostly clear, slightly deeper golden colored body with an inch thick, dense and foamy, off-white head that collapses slowly and leaves a nice, soapy lacing. Aroma is big sweet oranges and some grapefruits with a light resin. Lots of florals and a light pine. The malts are also really nice and smooth with bready caramels and a touch of toast while a few tropical fruits and apricots make their presence known as well. Flavor is similar. Really nice mix of mandarin oranges, grapefruits, apricots, florals, and light resiny pines. Very solid, very smooth malt backing with bready caramels and a light toast. Finishes very smooth, but dry with a moderate, resiny bitterness and solid citrus and tropical fruitiness. Lengthy aftertaste with just a hint of alcohol warmth. Medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Exceptional palate. Overall, a very impressive IPA. Extremely smooth and easy drinking with a wonderful balance between a fairly complex hop mixture and malt backing. Highly enjoyable and glad to have tried.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a medium, off-white head. Aroma of fruit and caramel with notes of pine and citrus hops. Flavor is a balance between caramel sweetness and pine and grapefruit hops. Decent dry hop finish. A little too much caramel sweetness for me, but a decent, drinkable brew.

12-NOV-2011, bottle @Radisson Blu Roma, from small bittle shop I do not remember the name of. Poured in "Ma che siete venuti..." glass. Hazy orange with huge white head that coats the glass. Lovely malty fruity and bitter hoppy piney nose. Taste is the same with grape fruit and more hops than malts. Long bitter aftertaste. Very fine example.

Draft at Bavarian Lodge. Always excited to get a taste of the Italian craft beer action. In its tulip, this is a cloudy, lighter bodied pale ale, with a thin layer of foam and some lace at the edges. Smell does not have the hoppy slap in the face of an APA. Rather, there’s a note of fresh cherries, then some citrus hop. I should rate it higher for being understated, perhaps, but this is what it is. Instead, i say the taste is very unusual and delicious. I’m thinking, wrongly no doubt, of the newer hop varieties with kiwi or more tropical fruit notes. Malt is crystal with some aromatics, likely into a Belgian mix, or more likely what you get when an Italian brewer stops trying to imitate Heineken. yes, clearly a warm ale ferment, with fruity esters and lovely tasty malts, just a little bit thick. Touch of black pepper at the finish. Cheers, I say again cheers to growing craft beer scenes in new countries. This one’s a keeper, though it may be too delicate to have in a bottle.

Nice floral hop aroma with a light sweetness. The taste is big and fruity and vino (a bit stale), in the taste there is a hop aromatic malt taste with a sour element. Strong hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Unfortunately, I experience a strange flavor that I do not like which lowers my overall score!

Taste: very fruity, peaches, bitter hops, bit sugary, sweet, some spices. Aftertaste: fruity hops, little dry, lots of peaches.
