3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Bir & Fud, Roma. Golden with slight haze and frothy white head. Big caramel malt nose with underlying stonefruit and grassy hops. The flavour is sweet malty caramel, apricot, tangerine and grassy hops. Smooth and bitter on the palate. Finishes dry and bitter. Very malt driven all round.

Hefty sample thanks to Steve at Kickbacks! Very interesting for an American pale. Leans towards the malty side. A little corny in the aroma.

Downstairs at the Thirsty Monk. Clear-ish orange, loose white head. Herbal, bready aroma. Weird flavor - Candy-ish, then a big medicinal note. Some hoppy notes, too. Really odd beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
buona birra, con ottimi margini di migliorabilità a partire dall’aspetto, schiuma un po troppo grosolana con un perlage poco raffinato. al gusto un discreto amaro finale che non stona anche se sul finale semra un po troppo "annacquato"...

Keg (Bir&Fud, Rome)
Sweet peachy, even mandariny, aroma. Taste follows that lead - tons of mandarin. Soft and sweet, in particular after it’s let warm to a decent temperature. A touch sticky, as the residual sugars are high, but the rich malts and occasional honey hint are pleasant.

Tap at Churchkey. Greg does have an interesting collection of Italian brews! Golden color, thin white head, massive lacing. Aroma of rye bread and grass. Bitter and dry, with flavors of scallions and black pepper. Interesting.

Bottle 75 cl from Eataly Bologna, exp. 9/2010. Not much head, but has lacing. Resembles some ESB’s, perhaps the EKG has survived better than the Cascade. Rather sweet and full-bodied. Sticky bitterness.

On tap at Bir & Fud. Pour hazy gold with a big white head (takes a long time to pour at the restaurant). Aroma of grapefruit and other citrus hops. Flavor is sweet for a pale ale, and the hops have almost a tea like quality. Another decent brew.
