COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A brand-new beer from a brand-new, very promising head-brewer. India Pale Ale following the American Pale Ale style with a fruity aroma (grapefruit), with peppery notes (East Kent Goldings), a rich taste of malts (Maris Otter and Crystal), with a very long bitter and citrus finish typical of Cascade hops.

[Bottled at Københavnske Øldage] Cloudy pale orange, creamy head. Aroma of grapefruit and melon. Sweet and fruity with near full body, but somewhat mellow mouthfeel. There’s notes of licorice, before it’s finished of by salty bitterness.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2007 Bottle. The aroma is like some sort of red berry. Very cloudy, greyish, milky, copper colour. Very fruity flavour and with fruity hoppiness. Medium to high bitterness. Astringent aftertaste. 7 3 6 3 13

Draught at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà, Rome. A lot more fresh than the bottled version. Nice malty aroma and flavour, quite powerful. Very nice and fresh. 8 3 8 3 16

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy amber with a thick, retentive, off-white head. Lightly fruity nose. Medium body with lots of fruit, lightly caramelish notes and then a rather bitter hoppy finish. 280406

Hildigöltur (5106) - København, DENMARK - JAN 2, 2006
Bottled. 6.4% Hazy dark amber coloured with stable head. Aroma of citrus fruits, especially grapefruits, peaches and hops with a faint touch of phenol. Sweet and soft malt flavour with a dry and lingering bitter hop finish. Very well balanced. Medium to full bodied. Smooth mouthfeel. Very good. This beer deserves much better ratings than the ones from the bad keg at GBBF.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2006 [Re-rate in Copenhagen from bottle, brought by the brewer] An undlear orange beer with a nice off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of yeast, but also light notes of oranges, while the flavor is sweet with lots of citrusfruit notes: oranges, lemon, and grapefruit, but also notes of caramel. The body is thin. As I expected in London, something must have been wrong over there - it is still nothing special - but it is far from bad.

[At GBBF 2005] An unclear orange beer with a white head. The aroma stings the nose with acidic notes combined with notes of yeast. The flavor is off - acidic with a few fruity notes of peaches. I hope it is the transportation to London that put this beer off. [3/3/2/3/4]

Amber color with a beige head. The taste is very strange with yeasty, spicy and rather ugly soapy notes.

Cask @ GBBF, 2005. Smokey cheese, tomato vine, apple, nettles, orange marmalade. Just having lots of flavours is not enough - the flavours have to mean something and work together. Added to which this thing tastes greasy. Points for interest and the fun of the spot the flavour game.
