UPDATED: JUN 28, 2011 33 cl bottle from Domus Birrae (Rome). It pours a hazy deep amber liquid with a creamy medium beige head. Looks delicious, and leaves a nice lacing. The aroma is very hoppy, herbs and citrus, and there is also a good deal of fruit (grapefruit, apricot, passion fruit). Nice malty touch. It tastes likewise, very intense. The fruity touch is delicious and contrasts perfectly with the high bitterness of the herbal hops. It has a very long and dry finish, leaving a kind of apricot aftertaste; really bitter and enjoyable. It is medium bodied and lively carbonated (but not annoying). It was a great surprise of a beer! I enjoyed it from the moment I pulled the cap until the last gulp. Smart presentation (bottle and crown cap). A must within italian craft beers!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes.
Pours a slightly burnt orange color. Maybe I should just give the nod to UT and say that it pours a light burnt umber. Slight off white head without much lacing.
Nose brings a fairly good dose of citrus and floral hops with a bit of a caramel undertone. The hops are the feature focus, and interact with the malt quite well. Taste is a bit different as the hops are toned down in relation to the doughy caramel malt, and not much bitterness comes through. Feel is a bit light with moderate carbonation. A pretty good job getting at the American style and glad I got to try this.

750ml bottle, Rehils, Ncl. Initially an elderflower aroma greets me from the pour, beautifully fresh, that develops into a quite intense hop aroma that is gorgeous. Lovely hazy red-copper appearance, with a clean white head. The taste is a superb rounded concoction of biscuit, orange and spices with a fine warming sensation on the throat and in the chest. Cracking stuff

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ottimo finale secco e decisamente luppolato, lungo e appagante. Splendida APA.

I didnít like it too much. Maybe because Iím not an English beer style fan, but i found it nothing special. I didnít notice very well the hop and it is not very strong smelling it. The very light carbonation causes the not persistence of the froth. But itís an English style! ;)

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Hazy dark orange pour with a small off white rim.
Malt heavy aroma and flavour with notes of germolene/band aid. Hops smothered. Some fruity notes. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but I found this to be pretty heavy going and leaden of foot. Disappointingly average.
