A brand-new beer from a brand-new, very promising head-brewer. India Pale Ale following the American Pale Ale style with a fruity aroma (grapefruit), with peppery notes (East Kent Goldings), a rich taste of malts (Maris Otter and Crystal), with a very long bitter and citrus finish typical of Cascade hops.

330ml bottle from Brewdog (£5):
Citrus and pine malts and is quickly overtaken by a strong floral hop aroma, some sweet malts and a sort of perfume like smell. There is also some alcohol right at the end.
Deep, honey amber colour with a two cm bubbly head that gradually reduces in size. The beer is clear too.
Hops & a combination of pine and floral ones with some soft caramel malts and various fruits. Definitely a fruity one with some orange and citrus along with some apricot and various berries plus some toffee.
Lively carbonation and a medium body with a strong alcohol lacing at first before settling down some. There is a crisp, dry finish that hints at bitterness too.

Pretty nice beer and one that went down well without being an outstanding beer. Initially the floral notes and the alcohol seemed too strong but both of these quickly died down as the beer settled and I got further down the glass.

355 ml. bottle sampled @ Gollem. Dark amber, very stable, one & a half or so finger off-white head. Nose is full grain bread mixed with malt, tad malt sweetish with pine resin & bitter grapefruit peel,… Taste is full grain, some sweetish caramel malt mixed dried mandarin & grapefruit peel + some pine resin, orange,… Med. malty body. Pleasant, not overly expressive & a bit too malt forward for what is is but drinks nicely still. Easy & enjoyable beer.

6.4% ABV. IPA. Tapped out a deep cloudy golden color about 8°SRM. The nose is richly perfumed with a bouquet that includes rose scented talcum powder, citrus, lilies and for me, a shot painful nostalgia, orange blossoms. Light slightly soapy mouthfeel. Deeply malty with a prompt appearance of some very nice quality refreshingly bitter hops. Nicely balanced. Astounding pumpkin pie finish with hint of cinnamon to boot. Goes on favorites list.
