Pours a hazy pinkish blonde color with a finger of fizzy bubbles. The nose has a lot of wet barrel funk and unripe raspberry fruit with a touch of vinous acidity. The palate follows the nose nicely with a foggy raspberry flavor, touch of round musky barrel notes that dry out on the finish nicely.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a bit hazy peach/ruby appearance with a thin off white head. Kind of spritzy, tart raspberry, a touch herbal, soda-like aroma. Fairly light bodied. Light to moderately tart, chewy raspberry, mild white grape, well carbonated, a touch sweet flavor. Just a bit of cheese and funk. Nothing too complex but also not all that hard to drink.

Jesterdeal (1659) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Aroma of fresh raspberries, floral, and slight acetone. Pours deep pink with no head at all. Taste is raspberry, potpourri, and acetone. Not too tart or funky. Slight perfumey funk to it. Had a newer bottle and it had a good tartness to it. Great brew.

Location: Bottle (as pictured) from Oak Tree, 11/15/13

Aroma: The nose is fruity sweet and fruity tart, raspberry, some sour yeast, and malts
Appearance: It pours a clear ruby-orange color with a lot of fizz that dissipates down to no head
Flavor: The taste is light-mid sweet and mid-tart fruit with some sour/funky notes
Palate: The body is light-medium, it tingly feel, and a fairly lengthy, dry, tart finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice example of what a fruit beer can be. The tartness and sweetness of the fruit work nicely, and keep the beer from going too far in either direction. The yeast provides some additional balance to the beer. It is also pretty drinkable, despite a good amount of carbonation.

Tap at Max’s. Pours clear amber with lacy white head. Aroma is sour fruit, raspberry, cereal malts, and spice. Flavor is a balance of sour fruit esters and bready malts that eases into a faint sweetness; dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Pours a clear amber orange color. Subtle brett character I the nose with some tart and citrus notes. Much of the same in the flavor, brett, tart, citric acid. Very tart fruity beer, raspberries not so present bit more citrus type character.
