3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
5th December 2008. Pigs Ear Fest. Cloudy brown beer, small tan head. Very fruity - tangy orange and cherry and other red fruits. Slighlty sweet but offset by the tangyness. Citrus and semi dry finish. Very drinkable and it goes down dangerously easily for it’s 8.5%

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, December 2008. Dispensed from keg using one of those air pump thingies that are used for foreign beers at CAMRA festivals. The only other Birra del Borgo Christmas ale on the site is from 2006 and this is presumably not that old. I don’t know, however, whether this is from a different recipe, so thought it best to add this as a new beer. Hazy reddish amber colour. Very fruity aroma. Dried apricots and other fruits. More fruity than spicy. More sweet fruit on the palate. Rather sharp mouthfeel. Sweet and sour overall feel. No discernible hop presence. Interesting and unusual.
