Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks ArizviSG. Vintage2012. Opaque amber. Ripe apple and caramel biscuit aroma, very dominant cherry barrel taste: sweet wine-like and delicate sourness. Smooth, full body, cherry aftertaste.

Vintage 2012. Aroma has caramel, tannins, alcohol, some sorbus. Bit harsh sourness, some alcohol in taste. Feels that this is bit young.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, zvikar and Ariel, smallish head, murky very deep orange colour, aroma of wood, honey, malt and conjac, oxidised notes with cherries in the flavour, light hinting sourness, feels quite heavy. Not too inspiring.

Leighton (10542) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2013
Bottle at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting - London. Thanks to Colin for getting his mitts on this one. Pours foggy gold with a fine, white froth head. Sugary pale fruits in the nose, like peach, nectarine and orange. Hugely sweet flavor, very boozy, pretty harsh, with notes of gasoline and overripe fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Hot finish with further gasoline notes, golden raisins, peach and pear. Not good. No nuance, no balance. Heavy-handed and clumsy.

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet fruit, nectar, wood, dry, alcohol notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20121216]

Nose is soured apples, sugar, hint of booze, light yeast, pears. Taste comprises sweet sugars, apple, spice, fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation, dry boozey finish. Decent enough.
