2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle: Plain, simple, one dimensional, cheap, stale, watery, unoffensive. That’s the good part.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottled 0,66L. Pale golden color, clear, without bubbly presence, no head. Unpleasant cereal notes, aroma of dampen corn, grains and shed. Poor and watery taste, discreet alcoholic perception, modest crisp body and disagreeable bitter final

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Canned 330ml. -from random gas station somewhere in Italy. Pale golden coloured, big white head, dusty malty nose. Sweetish malty and light grainy taste with hint of cardboard and nothing else. Watery of course.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Ah yes, Birra Italia. I remember that Ogi and me found a bottle of that, with still some inside, in our train compartment a couple of years ago, but even we were unwilling to touch some crappy warm beer left by people unknown, so we had to wait for a couple of years before Ogi found it somewhere in Italy and gave us the opportunity to rate it. Birra Italia. Made in Belgium. So delightfully European. They should’ve named it Enzo Scifo too. In any case, poured a golden-yellow body with a small white head and tons of bubbles clinging to the edge of my glass. Malt-driven nose... Austrian in a way (oh no), apples and vegeables, sweet. Cooked apples in the sweetish taste, creamy grain, relatively empty. Not the worst thing you’ll find around, but hey... nothing you want to pay 2.90€ a 0.33l can for.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Tastes pretty rough. Doesn’t even help to pass the time on this interminable chicken bus ride to Monteverde. Pretty flat, with an aftertaste of Panamanian seco. Can

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
’Sunny day, sunny lager’, makes sense.
Chilled and into a flute. Looks damn good. Fine, streaming bubbles lift up a fluffy and rocky, snow-white crown that holds and leaves a mist of white in its wake. There is a touch of mint and lemon peel in the aroma; very subtle with just a whiff of clean, pale grains and grassy hops. Assertively bitter, fresh and obscenely clean in profile on the palate. Light, racy in mouthfeel with a dry, crisp and lasting bitter hop finish. Sunny pale malt base is delicate with grassy, lemon zest of hops giving good balance. This is simple, refreshing and unchallenging stuff. Perfect end to the weekend really! (33cL, BB 31/11/13, Liquor Baron’s Herdsman)
