COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Fľaša. Tmavá jantárová až hnedá farba, biela pena. Vôňa sladká, jemne karamel, prezreté ovocie. Chuť pikantná na jazyku, prechod cez karamelové tóny, neskôr prezreté ovocie. Pekná horká dochuť.

Pours a rich copper from a bottle. Caramel-y nose and flavor, well-balanced. Not much going on, but no real faults either. Good beer.

Copper pour with an off white head. Caramel malty sweetness and a little bit of funk in the taste. Tastes like Optimator Light in a way, in that it’s kinda strong but less complex. Not bad, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it.

Poor’s a light brown in color. Has no head or lacing with average carbonation. Very syrupy in flavor (on the verge of tasting medicinal)

This beer reminds me of Salvatore. Malty, little hops, and easy to drink. If you haven't tried this one, buy it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/26/2014. Pours clear deep ruby red/brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness/roast, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness/roast, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness/roast, raisin, plum, fig, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good doppelbock style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
