Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Bottle 0,33L. Clear ruby red/amber colour with small, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, plum and prune. Moderate bitter taste with a lot of malts and hops bitterness in mouthfeel. Medium body, oily texture and carbonation somewhere between soft and lively with light alcoholic finish. Finaly something drinkable from Moretti...

Solid malty aroma, with a nice amount of carbonation (medium-bodied). Taste is spot on with balanced matly sweetness and caramel. A little boozy in there, I didn’t realize it was over 7% when drinking it, but now that I know it was that strong, I am not surprised. I think there’s more booze in the flavor than I would expect from a higher quality beer. I’ve had plenty of beers at 10%+ and didn’t even notice as much then. But that being said, for me, the sweetness is perfect for a beer like this. Lots of sweet and caramel flavors that are awesome. Would love to find a beer with a similar flavor profile that’s higher quality. Other doppelbocks I’ve had have had completely different flavors, appearance, etc.

330ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with average-sized beige head. Slight roasty aroma along with some caramel malt. Sweet flavor with predominantly caramel malt notes. Mostly sweet finish, medium bodied. Pretty good.

Una birra che non ha niente di eccezionale: poco saporita, maltata alla bellemmeglio e per nulla luppolata. Da bere accompagnati da una lacrima di rassegnazione e una smorfia di disappunto.

Pretty good. I hate writing reviews. Darker beer goes good with steak and salad.

Bottle, 330ml. A light brown colour with a small head. A sweet aroma with dark fruit and hops. Flavour is malty with sweet nutty malt, berries, cardboard, diacetyl. Moderate carbonation. Would be nice if not for the lingering cardboard aftertaste.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark red-brown. No head. Aromas are toffee, malty, sweet. Taste is sweet too, light herbal note. Not a lot going on, but not bad. Perhaps a bit too sweet at the end.
