Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Brown. average tan head. Lager-like aroma. Pale and light. Flavor is like a dark lager. Medium bodied. Mild bitterness balances the roasted malt character. Very easy for an Italian.

Nice malty beer. Recommended by bartender at All Calderone. Pours clear golden brown, fizzy white head. Nice malty aroma. Toasty malt flavor with a hop edge. A little watery but overall pleasant.

Has a nice amber color. Drank it Stella Rossa, thanks to the great bar tender! It’s a nice doppelbock. Sweet, with hints of vanilla, oily texture. It’s a runner: good first moment but gone after a moment.

11.2oz bottle, from Party Town. Clear brownish red color. Pours with a nice thin khaki head. Leaves decent, thicker lace. Medium to bigger body, lightly slick. Smooth, moderate strength carbonation. Close to being creamy, pretty full. Moderate bready, dark fruity aromas. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, with a light lagery bite. Solid doppelbock, but light macro type lager bite holds it back.

Its an okay doppelbock. Not as sweet as the average of the style, but it has a nice mild finish.

Well I might as well continue my Italian streak this evening, at least this doppelbock is a nice change-up from the overload of pale lagers I've sampled today. Has a solid appetizing burgundy brown appearance with a good head and lacing, aroma is light but flavorful with dark fruit and roasty malt. Taste is the same, although the alcohol notes are not masked so well. Also just a bit flat watery texture. On a positive note, the dark fruit flavor is very enjoyable, and the finish is clean. Decent example of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Bottle, from Tesco, Cleethorpes. Deep red brown, thin shortlived off white head and gentle condition. Muted fruity berry notes and some roasted maltiness in the nose, more fruitiness in the mouth with a low dry bitterness and some alcoholic notes, more berry fruitiness in the finish with a low roasted bitterness, some earthiness and retronasal alcohol lingering.

330 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown color with a dense creamy beige head. Sharp, fruity toasted malt nose with notes of caramel and toasted walnuts. Upfront, sweet toasted malt has notes of brown bread and dried fruit. Later on, there is a chewy, wine-like character with obvious notes of alcohol. Some spicy resiny hops in finish. Overall, very full-bodied and flavorful and reminiscent of the Bavarian Doppelbock style.
