Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Surprisingly good with caramel and fruit sweetness offset by a lightly bitter finish.

Vom Fass. Ambre farben, wenig Schaum. Sehr getreidig und malziger Duft. Antrunk süß, dann röstig, fast ein Hauch Rauch. Wenig bitter. Besser als die helle Variante.

Nice dark color with a very light palate. It has a malty floral taste with a slight bitter after taste. Not a memorable beer for me.

Flimsy foam that disappears very quickly, but it abstracts a pleasant inviting aroma of caramel and hard roasted malt. The taste lightly fruity grapes and berries, relatively very malt sweetness and a caramelized feeling that fills the mouth. After some time results in a soft and full hop bitterness that is very lengthy. It amazes me that such a masterpiece by a bock comes from Italy. Very tasty and delicate.

Pours a clear coppery brown color, topped with a medium sized off-white head. Quite strong malty aroma, roasted notes with some caramel as well. Taste is very sweet and malty, some mild caramle and roasty notes and presence of gentle alcohol burn. Not a fan of doppelbocks, this one wasn’t as strong as some others, so a bit better, though still not the best.

Bought several bottles in Italy. The beer is dark Brown colored and pours a stable cream colored head with livingly co2. The aroma is roasted malts, caramel, liquorice and a hint of alcohol. The taste is light sweet with tones from the aroma, roasted malts and some warming alcohol. The finish is full and nicely bitter with some warming alcohol. Gave it total of 15 because I?m surprised. Never thought Italians were capable of brewing this.
