BruceLeroy (68), North Dakota, USA May 31, 2002 I’m not much of a dopplebock fan, but I enjoyed this one. I prefer their Birra pilsner, but this is a good year round beer. A little too sweet...presumably to hide the alcohol.
chokmah33 (88), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jul 25, 2008 Mild cocoa, lightly roasted malts, apples, typical lager metallic aroma.
Chocolate mild roasted malt aroma. Light coffee + cream, butterscotch and carmel notes. Figgy fruitiness. You can taste the alchohol.
Creamy texture, tantalizingly smooth palate.
Relaxative (2), Aurora, Colorado, USA does not count Jul 21, 2008 Malty with a slight hop undertone. Very condensed but minimal head when poured, don’t know if alititude affects this. I like it better than some local dark ambers/bocks, but still could use something to hide the heavy alcohol scent. Good overall brew. Homer321 (27), Rockledge, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2008 aroma is very bready and yeasty, slight hints of nuttiness. malt fills your nose. app is a very deep red, fairly clear. flavor reminds me of munich, aromatic and biscuit malts. this is like a matly-er fat tire lager. Maybe a little less on the biscuit malt that FT. this is good so far. slight must as it warms. I like it, I like it a-lot! unclemattie (1521), Georgia, USA Jul 15, 2008 12oz bottle . Pours clear reddish-brown, light tan foamy head. Aroma of toasted malt, some spice. Very aromatic. Smells like a meal. Flavors of dried fruit leather, sweet toasted malt, brown sugar, and floral fragrances. Full bodied and full flavored. This beer is way better than I had expected. cab (693), Denmark Jul 8, 2008 Bottle.33cl. Dark amber with absolutly no head, good aroma very fruity and a bit dusty. very fine beer.
