Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

Pours copper with little head. Aroma is nutty caramel. Flavor is pretty good malty, nutty and caramel. THen BAM!!! Nothing. No finish or aftertaste. It was just gone. One of the most unbalanced beers I have tried. An even 2.5 rating for half a beer.

Bottle (at Disney World). Poured a deeper amber color with a smaller sized head. Fruity, malty, and caramel. Not bad considering the location.

Pours a dark, dark amber color with a small head. Rally easy to drink beer with a malty, sweet taste. Wasn’t sure what to expect but I really enjoyed this brew.

Bottle @ WOB, RSW. Light malty aroma. Clear, dark brown color, large off white head. Pretty nice malty flavor. Body is a little light for a dopplebock. Overall, pretty nice, but a little light bodied.

non il meglio dello stile, ma considerando la commercialitŕ e l’essere italiana, risulta essere comunque una buona birra

This is what I used to drink before I discovered the myriad of really good Italian beers. I liked it because it was maltier than most, and a welcomed change from pale lagers. Nice color as well. But I’ve moved on.

"biscuity sweet, with a dry aftertaste, this is a solid db, and is drinkable enough to go well with certain meals. i’d recommend it to anyone looking to try something new."

330ml can poured in a pint jug Beer hunting in Italy is not an easy task :)... Today, micros like: La Baladin, Panil, Montegioco, Birra del Borgo, etc are really good option if you can find them. The majority (if not all) of the mass production beers are really poor. As usual, half of them were bought by Heineken and the other half by Calrsberg :). The Moretti is Heineken, nevertheless, that’s a mass production brewery that I could call... Fair. They have, at least, some median flavors, like this one, the D’Oro and Doppio Malte. A: Clear amber color with a nice beige head. Not bad retention and some lacings as it disappears S: Caramel malts, basically. T: Caramel malts. Brown sugar (quite molasses). Very sweet upfront. Yeasts. Too light bitterness. M: Medium body and medium to light carbonation D: Not bad [ BA Review @ 9/3/2010 ]
